This loss Hurts (no pun intended) but it's easy for me to see why it happened. A little bit was scheme (Hurd up the middle over and over, etc) and a lot had to do with our injured starters, obviously... The fact is Bama is like an NFL team. Nothing we could have done would have won that game.

My brother-in-law is a Bama grad:-/ He pointed out, and this is flabbergasting, that Bama can field their entire Defense, at EVERY position, with a 5* recruit. Think about that. We have maybe one 5* recruit that plays on Defense (KMac, maybe one other but can't recall off the top of my head)... This is, and will be the case until our recruiting gets to the next level.

Our recruiting is good and I'm thankful of the improvement under CBJ but to beat teams like Bama and Ohio St that means Bama and Ohio St can't be the only 2 schools that scoop up 90% of all the 5* recruits.

This is a perplexing catch 22. Those teams get all the 5* recruits because they offer sustained success, National Championships, and sending you to the NFL. We won't get that level of talent until we can offer those same things but we can't offer those things without that level of talent.

My point is, Bama is just incredibley good and almost all of their starters are NFL prospects. They're bigger and faster and no game plan will overcome that.

Don't blame Hurd or Dobbs or play calling. This is recruiting. We are good top 10 recruiters but being the number 1 or 2 recruiter is a whole different level...

We have too many fans on here that simply have a low football "IQ" and refuse to see it Thais way. Talent trumps in most situations. If my guys are better than your guys...well chances are we're going to win most one on one match ups ALL GAME LONG!!! Many of our fans refuse to hear/see that....just like they expect our 2nd,3rd, and 4th stringers to be able to perform like our starters....again...low football IQ. Flame all you want guys!

BAMA rarely loses a game year end and year out. We are not the only ones to wake up like this on a Sunday. They have the best football players in the country hands down.

The ability to load the box with 7 and 8 while playing man to man on the outside is the game changer. They did that bc they know we aren't that accurate in the pass game. The pressure of all 7 rushing the QB forced quick decisions with a lot of quick slants, hitches, and passes in the flat.

Maybe with a healthy line and some pass protection - giving Dobbs time to throw or move around - we could've exploited that somewhat. It is what it is.

Let's get to Atlanta and find out.

Are you saying that 3* in state talent that bleed orange and have gigantic heart is not enough. Preposterous!

From top to bottom they may be the most talented CFB team of the last 20 years. I think, at the least, it's most complete squad we've seen from Saban (despite a true Freshman QB at the helm). They have decimated every opponent, except Ole Miss & Arkansas (two tough opponents, though they were not nearly as depleted as we were depth-wise on Saturday). The only question Alabama really has going forward is does Hurts have what it takes to win it all as a true freshman? From what he's shown us so far, I'd say yes. Pretty much every starter on their squad has NFL potential, which is absolutely crazy.

I've been watching Sec defenses for close to 35 years. The defense I saw yesterday was the best. They are big, strong and close to the football at a unbelievable rate of speed. The Miami defense that beat us at home a few years ago was about the same as the one I saw yesterday. I think it produced 20 plus NFL players. The two deep Bama put in the field yesterday has that many.

6 years of #1 recruiting classes with good coaching sure doesn't hurt a teams ability.

Looked like Kiffin was going to screw that up.

My brothers friend came over to watch the game and without much of a college football knowledge, he asked why does Bama seem to double the size of Tennessee?

Watching the game yesterday was like watching the Freshman team playing the varsity. Even when we stopped them on plays I just felt they were running that 1 yard gain to setup a play to get them 30 yards.
