Okay, I’m going to lay it all out there about Tennessee football the past 3 years since we hav had the “joy” of having Pruitt as our head coach and the problems I have observed and my reasoning for where we are today. It’s gonna be lengthy, but I’ve got alot to say and from 40 years a Vols fan to draw from! So here goes, FIRST and foremost, every one says one player does not make or break a team! I beg to differ! I have watched the JG crap show for several years now and it has not gotten any better!! A fifth year senior that had played as a true freshman is STILL stairng down receivers, telegraphing throws , cannot feel any pressure, has no pocket awareness, cannot run to escape any rush, , 3 rd down any pressure has to throw ball away and punt!! It’s the same Groundhog Day over and over!! His turnovers have been GAMECHANGING!! Detrimental, Bama last year, Ga this year 2nd half, Ky, Auburn! The list goes on!! Our Defense has really played hard and tried to keep us in games but no team can withstand these type turnovers game in and out! We have a solid team all around him! We have a really great 5 star QB that has never been given a shot! Even with a smaller playbook!! At least he can move and has pocket awareness, and has a great arm! THATS ON OUR COACH FOR NOT MAKING A MOVE DURING OFF WEEKS !! I saw JG win games at end of season last year squeaking out wins wins , teams we should have blown out!! Then I saw in person a bowl game where he only could overthrow every open receiver in end zone and easily should have lost that game to my word INDIANA!! And then to open season last year with losses to Ga state and BYU!! Wow!! Anyone watching college football realizes how very important QB is to a teams success!! What if Saban had not taken a chance with Tua in NC game? Just cause he was a freshman?? What if Clemson had sit Trevor Lawerence his freshman year, because he was a freshman!! Unbelievable!! So yes 80% im calling the JG Poison for problems! Now coaching, Pruitt has done a lot of great things with our recruiting. Our players seem to like him up till now! He has lost a lot of respect with players, fans and now BIG money!! Everyone wants to blame QB coach Weinke, but truth is I’m sure in practice he does everything he’s coached to do! Lights on he freezes! Not a gamer! We’ve all known this player in any sport. I was oposite that as a tennis player. Didn’t practice well, but when match started I found another gear and played well! That’s what you want , a gamer when it counts! Everyone also blames OC Channey, here is his deal! Everywhere he has been he used a Tight end heavily in passing game . Possession type plays 3-4 yards to keep drive going on 3 rd down. Look at Ga, Bama, Florida, and he did before here, prior JG,. Now he has to keep TE in to help protect a immobile JG. Along with a back .That takes 2 potential receivers out that don’t have to be covered! Now we have double covered receivers no where to throw ball! Easy for D. Load box, double cover receivers! Now WHY Channey decided to throw on 8 yard line Saturday vs Auburn after running it down their throats with Gray, with a worn ou Defense front, is beyond me?? Maybe a check off again by our super smart QB! 2 more runs TD and momentum to win game! You cannot make this up. Lets fool them and let out weakest link throw it in there!! Wow, just wow!! Pruitt has tied his anchor on JG’s waist and it will most likely cost him his job next year! Just like JG had a Part in Butch firing. We saw what Tennessee could do offensively with a more mobile QB when Dobbs was here! Mobility is everything with a passing game!! I even heard we could have had Felipe Franks this year and passed cause we had JG. Imagine what our offense would have looked like with him! I’m telling you cannot make this stuff up!! Oh and don’t ask me WHY this late in the season with an Defense guru as a HC we cannot put inside pressure on receivers and cover/stop the dang slant passes!! SMH!! Safety over top if they go deep ! Heck we did that ib our MFL ( Methodist Football League) at church touch games! It’s not rocket science and I see Bama and Florida do it every week! LAST FULMER unbelievable 2 year extension to Pruitt is the TOTAL ICING! He would be gone already if that had not happened! What the heck!! Again!! YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS STUFF UP! One player. JG along with terrible coaching decisions, non decisions, taking safe way, a few bad play calls , and Fulmer Administration’s decisions have now reset our program back another 4 years . I don’t have many more 4-5 year rebuild s in my life left! I guess I’m just beaten down! Many of our recruits are bailing now and who could blame them. The writing is on the wall for Pruitt! Big money is out, he’s out!! Thats my take!!

Correct on every point. I wish you were a big money booster, I think you could win over everyone important with that speech and Pruitt would be headed back to.....

I agree with most of that. Pruitt really showed that he’s not very intelligent (when it comes to coaching at least) with the one ridiculous decision at qb. And he’s made the same dumb decisions again amd again. He could be forgiven after the first year. But the second he never benched him after byu and ga state. So surely this year he’d allow someone else to win the job. Anyone else. But about 2 weeks before the first game it became apparent that there was no competition going on at practice and that it was JG’s job. Again. Uncontested

For Fulmer to hire Pruitt as quick as he did, doesn't show me he cared about bringing Tennessee football back..Should have made alot more visits to other candidates.

If we lose to A&M next week, JP will be 8-9 with a 7 game losing streak the past 2 seasons plus losses to Ga st, blow out to UK and BYU loss at the end as icing. Win those 3 games and this post never happens because then he's 11-6 and would be coming off a 10-3 season in 2019. Much different scenario!

I'm not a big fan of firing him after 3 seasons however his mismanagement of the staff and team this year has caused me to rethink his situation. I'm typically a 4yr coach supporter at a minimum however this has been sad to watch as JG should not have played since the GA game after that 2nd half performance cost that game. He has continued to continually run his ass out there week after week is inexcusable when you have a 5* and a very good back up in Shrout as well. I thought at the start of the season Shrout should have been the starter. Just something about him when he's on the field, great arm, command of the team etc...He reminds me a lot of Eric Ainge!

If Hugh Freeze wants the job, PF should pull the plug after the A&M game next week and move on. Buyout or not, UT has the money to make JP disappear quickly. If SC can, UT certainly can.
