Not true and not really. Maybe largest metro employer but not state.

Vanderbilt hardly has any actual fans.

When they are winning the people that typically rep the dores are almost always people that watching any sports in their homes growing up. Weren’t introduced by their family. Didn’t play sports as kids. They have very little knowledge of the game they just want to feel like a part of something while everyone else is getting excited. And thats cool but they are only temporary. Every 10th year the stars align and a combination of a series of opponents bad luck and Vandy good like make them appear to have turned the corner and the naive new money crew thinks they’ve found something to cheer for and talk about with coworkers on Monday morning. By the end of the season ,or often October ,the novelty and fake pride fade and theyre gone back to half heartedly being Titans fans. That’s just my observation from watching Davidson county repeat this cycle going back to Watson Brown in the early 80s Nobody has Vandy watch parties. Most the Vandy gear Walmart sells is so the employees at the medical center can dress casual at work. Their hospital is grade A tho. Any of you believing

I should add, while the Joey Aguilar story is the feel-good story of the decade, the Diego Pavia story is not far behind. I'm rooting for Pavia any time he isn't playing the Vols.

UT has taken advantage of the portal very nicely since it's inception. Vandy has gone to another level of transfer portal. They raped New Mexico State of it's players and coaches at the same time.In doing this Vandy hit a homerun and are reaping the benefits.I don't question the legal part of this,I question the execution of another school FB program to save Vanderbilt If this is what the portal is going to be in the future I think College FB may be going down a deep dark rabbitt hole!

My son posed a question to me. Would I rather Vandy beat Bama or would I rather Bama destroy Vandy? My answer was Vandy beating Bama always. He leans more towards Bama embarrassing Vandy. He's only 19, he hasn't developed the Bama hatred yet. Just curious where y'all are on this.
Here in the 2025 world. I gotta pull for bubba to win this in a not dominating, but convincing manner. They will get more voter hype and spring us into the top ten when we go down there and take care of business.

On further reflection, let’s get Candy in Neyland undefeated for the last game of the year, then hand them their hat as usual.

Not one FL hater! Come on guys! Even though they are down right now, I love it and will gladly pour salt in their wounds! We can thank S Superior for creating that group. Now my favs: UT, who's ever playing ND {always #1}, FL, UGA or BAMA opponents (all tied for #2). ND will be in the top 10 with a losing record, just thank the E Coast sports writers. TX may be joining the above ranks soon.

I dislike Vandy more than AL. I lived in Nashville for years and Vandy fans are insufferable. At least AL has the history to brag but Vandy catches lightning in a bottle and all of a sudden they think they have arrived. I hope AL stomps them back to reality.
YES, YES, YES and a thousand more times YES!!!!

Vandy is & has always been like a huge pimple on the face of the SEC. Their stadium is embarrassing, because Vandy has never truly invested in football. If they lose every game for about ten years, I have no issue with it. Probably won't happen because the cupcakes they schedule? Usually the weakest they can find.

Where they really ticked me off was when Covid started up. Some academic dill weed from there suggested we shut down the season. Of course they would be the one to say that, because they are the least invested program in the conference. And I don't care about the credentials that guy might have. If you are the least invested? STFU.

Why does every tree in the state of Tennessee lean slightly towards Nashville? BECAUSE VANDY SUCKS!!!

Edit: To the OP. This thread is severely lacking a poll.

I wouldn’t pull for Bama if they were playing ISIS…

yeah I'm with you on this one. I hate them both tremendously, but Vandy fans are absolutely insufferable.
