My only concern with Pruitt would be staff continuity. I think he would put together a great staff, but how well will they hold together? He's a very intense/aggressive guy and it caused issues at UGA. I think that's the only risk with him. The personal life stuff seems to be well behind him from all accounts. His resume as a DC and recruiter is elite. The guy badly wants to be a head coach and is extremely competitive. I think he's a potential home run hire and the best option on the board. Unlike Steele and Tucker, other programs are actually showing interest in him as a head coach...and I think that says a lot about the other two candidates.

My only concern with him is that I have serious doubts that he can regularly beat Mullen and Smart and beat Saban every once in a while.

If he can't do those, we won't win the East.

Not feeling excited this morning.

If programs aren't coming for your staff, you got the wrong guys coaching. Seems like Saban loses guys pretty darned regularly.

Exactly. People aren’t poaching Alabama’s staff because they suck. Jimbo, Kirby and now Pruitt all performed in that system well and Kiffin would have had much better luck in the job market if he would have played nicer with Saban.

If you keep your staff for years, it’s bc no one wants them. No a good sign.

I see that Pruitt has never been a head coach, not even on High School level. What does he know about total control of a team?

Don't discount the "culture" factor. Pruitt has seen what a winning/championship culture looks like at both FSU and Bama. That's something our roster and program are so far removed from that it's not even a distant memory anymore. When a guy with Pruitts resume tells kids how champions are made, his comments will carry weight. If he can change our culture and point it in that direction, that might be something that would bump him above the other candidates. Still expect the UT connection to give us Steele this afternoon.

Why? (Or, should I say, "Why not?") Serious question. What about him tells you he won't be able to beat those guys?

Pruitt was the DC for Hoover High School for a long time and he got 3 or 4 state titles during their run before the coach got fired for misconduct and academic fraud. Pruitt left Hoover for GA then of course he was at FSU for a year then went to Bama where he’s at now. I think with a great staff this could be a promising hire....we could get 8 wins next year with him and go from there. Don’t think we see 10+ wins though.....question is if he is hired how long does he stick around??

Getting a solid staff and letting them do their jobs will be a key to success for any HC hired by Fulmer.

My concern, as well. While some coordinators are able to transition (Swinney, Smart, Riley) and successfully grasp the management piece of being a successful head coach, many others are not, especially their first time around at the big-boy level, like Orgeron, Muschamp, DuBose, etc. I’m still not sold on Taggart, either.

My only concern is that we won't have enough scholly's for all the big time recruits he'll have coming here.

Guys he had a hand in recruiting...

Derrick Henry, Jalen Ramsey, T.J. Yeldon, Reggie Ragland, C.J. Mosley, etc.

Per 247 he has recruited 11 five stars and a long list of 4 stars.

Yep. Was just looking at the Bammer boards and they don't want him to leave.

Any success will result in staff leaving for promotions. That happens anywhere except the VT DC position.

The big worry is that if he is successful, does he head back to Tuscaloosa when Saban retires in a few years?

yeah, i looked at this last night. peaks the interest...then you start looking at what he staff might look like, and i start to see a path for this to possibly work.

Possibly, but I think they'll make a big push for Dabo.
