My One Big Offensive Critique

All teams which run shotgun offenses tend to have some problems in short yardage situations. Putting a Qb under center seems to increase the chances of fumbled exchanges from center to QB, and the Oline is not use to firing off with straight ahead blocking which can cause problem with blitzing LBs. Saturday, there would not have a problem if the pass had not been dropped. When the plunge on the first play failed, the left guard was pushed back into the backfield and the play was stuffed. Both of those played failed because of execution, not because the QB was not under the center.
Its not about having a problem with the pass being caught or dropped. It's basically a question about opinions of formations. Listen I'm all in on what the coaches call or their formations. It's just not what I would have called on the goal line. But I'm also from the age of the 80'season and early 90's. And I still miss the wishbone of Nebraska and Oklahoma.
