i'd like to tell them if they did their job instead of giving out parking tickets and underage consumption citations maybe the fort wouldn't be the ghetto.

the apartment below me was robbed when I used to live on 16th and highland. i just say, 'welcome to the fort!'

I have lived in the fort for 2 years. There have been multiple robberies/shootings/stabbings within a block radius of my apartment (11th and Highland). This is the first time it was someone I knew. I'm pissed.

I lived in the Fort for several years and never had one problem... this was >10 years ago though... that's a shame

i didn't know knoxville and got lost once over in that area about 10 years ago in the middle of the night and made the mistake of making all right turns trying to find a way out. needless to say people were wearing all the same colors and i have never felt like i was being stared at by an entire neighborhood before. it can really get scary in some places even if it is knoxville.

all white from what i recall, but no if it was orange i would have felt a little better.

I've never seen gang activity in the fort area. Could see it in some other parts of Knoxville though.

Last time I was in The Fort, a bunch of tools from the Big Orange Army tried to recruit me.

Isn't The Fort their territory?

I have a friend that stopped to help a crying woman last week. When he stopped the car the woman turned out to be a transvestite carjacker that jumped into the car and started beating on him. In the struggle, my friend actually had a heart attack, but stayed coherent enough to grab his .45 and bust a cap in the perpetrator who ran directly to the hospital and confessed . . . to being a serial transvestite carjacker. I'm not making this up.
