My feelings about UTEP

Anyone that reads my posts knows I’m not really high on our Vols this year. I will say I think Pruitt was focused on forcing our guys to run the ball and making the o line make plays.

The 24-0 score is reflective of that. We didn’t really press the deep ball like we did last week. Overall it was a mediocre performance and we will need better come next week.

I only heard snippets of Pruitt's interviews but at one point he was asked about the run game. He something to the effect that he didn't know why we ran in some instance instead of passing.

Praying for improvement during the season. Only winnable games are after Alabama.

That’s the worst team in FBS. 130th out of 130. Lost 15 straight games. There’s no excuse for a program ranked #11 in net worth, 2nd last yr in revenues should struggle in the first half vs that program. Enjoy the win

The game was never in question. We worked on what we needed to work on. We gave guys reps that needed some reps. We got a shut out. If the staff had truly wanted to, yeah, we could have hung at least 40. This was a tune up game.

This is how I feel about the game. You could tell that they were calling plays just to get reps and put stuff on film. I liked the fire JG showed while scrambling and the D is starting to gain confidence in the system.

This game was treated like a scrimmage. All the proof you need is the sub of Chryst in right before the half. The staff was saying you can’t beat us so we will take what we need from the game and that was working on the run game.

J.G. could do a few fewer head first slides. That said, he's quicker than I expected. P.S., it was hot as balls at the game today.
