I think the offensive line is gonna be top 5 in the SEC, and that will help John Kelly get over 1500 rushing yards, and over 2000 all purpose yards. Hes gonna have a breakout year.

I'm in. Not sure about Kelly getting all those yards but we should be able to get it by committee. The Oline IS one of the best in the country this year. It just depends on what we can get out of them.

Jesus people, based off fact. We have one of the most experienced lines in the country this year. Just depends on what they want to give us.

You do realize, that it takes more than just giving five offensive linemen a bunch of snaps, to turn them into a functional college-level offensive line, right? Even if Wells is a miracle worker, with the time he has it's highly unlikely this line ends up being "one of the best in the country". With the hole Mahoney dug for him, getting them to a serviceable level will be an achievement over the previous seasons.

I've had a lot of facepalms reading this site today.

Moving on to middle and index fingers to the temples, and rubbing in a circular motion.

Better RB depth, and one of the best O-lines in the country.....

Wut?

Unreal. I'm going through this same slow ish with Browns fans right now who are sure Garrett is the answer to all their problems.

I got a question for you: what the **** is talent?

I got an answer for you: hard work and determination beats half assed talent all day.

This is the division in our country right now. Folks who cannot decider reality from virtual reality anymore. People who don't know what to believe. People who are suddenly realizing that they have never seen anything beyond their hand in front of their face. Alternative facts.

No reason for the '17 OL not to be solid, with depth, veterans, and 4/5-star guys all over the place. Sure injuries hurt their production last year, but we are talking about this year now.

RB might be most questionable unit on the team right now ... thus negavols are eager to pick at that and ignore the other units ... but questionable does not equate with sucks, only means not well known at this time how it will turn out. If Kelly can just stay healthy early on, then he will have some reinforcements getting up to speed as the season progresses.

Yep. Reasonable take. I pretty much agree with everything you wrote.

And completely different from what has had me face palming today.

I havent looked at the roster in a while, but we've got 8 serviceable linemen that have an opportunity to be very good, and I;'m counting Smith in the 2 deep. I am anxious for the spring game eye test and would like to see how much improvement this squad is making in the weight room.

This past season was a classical example of a group underachieving after riding in on the hype train. Its hard for 19 & 20 year old minds to do the things they have to with a sense of urgency they need. It is evident by the fact that the offensive line showed up for fall camp out of shape. That's where the coaching staff drop the ball. This seasons failures were the fruition last off seasons failure to prepare.

Was the coaching staff bitten by the hype bug also?

What? John Kelly is as good as Kamara or Hurd and probably runs harder than both of them put together. Ty Chandler is going to be a capable backup as a freshman and will end up with 400-500 yards as a true freshman. Fils-Amin will be a decent third string player.
Now, most questionable unit on the team has to be our secondary, cornerbacks in particular. Without Barnett putting pressure on the QB this year, these guys will be on an island and that doesn't bode well for Mosely, Martin, Buchannan, etc...
