my biggest concerns

Here are my 5 biggest concerns for this season...

1.) Lack of improvement in the passing game.

2.) Depth at key positions, namely middle linebacker and running back. Can we stay durable?

3.) The development of the left tackle position (will Drew Richmond be ready to start as a RSF?).

4.) Our ability to consistently make field goals at key moments in a game (something no one seems to be talking about).

5.) Coaching decisions at key moments in games. Has CBJ developed as a coach the same way our team has developed as players?

Solid post. Only thing I'd add is the current 2017 recruiting class. I'm generally optimistic; I understand we are still months out, and the class will change. I also trust Butch's ability to scout talent, I think he has earned that. But still, it gives me pause. This is likely the best class in the state of Tennessee's history, and it seems we are striking out.

Solid post. Only thing I'd add is the current 2017 recruiting class. I'm generally optimistic; I understand we are still months out, and the class will change. I'm not concerned about the 2017 recruiting class right now. I'm way more concerned about THIS team and THIS season. I'll pay more attention to recruiting come February.

However I do think the on field success of this year's team will have strong implications on the future of this program. I think this team, this season will have more influence on the trajectory of where this program is headed than any other team Butch Jones has had since being here. We are potentially losing about 11 starters or major contributors off of this team to either graduation or the NFL. So the strength of the 2017 class will be a big determination of whether we're going to be Florida State, who re loads every year, or if we're going to be TCU, who sucks for 2-3 years and then has a great season because of experience and some talented pieces here and there.
