On Monday I lost my mother when she decided to end the pain she had been having for the last 3 or so years. She took a gun and decided to stop the pain for good. My father in the last three years has been to 4 different hospitals with her and they spent what I would say no less than $70,000.00 chasing a pain in her stomach and to no avail. At the end she was on very heavy medication and was still in pain.
She is the reason I am a Vol because of the trips to Knoxville when I was a kid to see my family and get to walk the campus. Now every game will have a little deeper meaning for me. I have her Tenn. hat in which I will wear for every game I watch and attend from now on.
My friends got together and sent these in her honor and I think the VN family will enjoy them.

Fine that's just awful!! All you can say is that she is in a better place and the pain is gone. I'm really sorry to hear about this, my friend.

Sorry Finevol that your mom is gone. Mom is free from pain now. Having witnessed my mom who died of prolonged breast cancer and dad same with brain cancer, they surely put up brave fronts. I use to ask my mom how she was doing and she would say fine but I knew better. This kind of reminds of the stories my wife would tell me when she was in nursing school. They would go to hospitals and do clinicals and on one floor, there was basically a living morgue. No one would come and tell the doctor to let these people die,so they preceeded on with the stomach feeding, etc. A lot of these suffering patients wouldn't even have visitors.
I can assure you after paying mom proper respect, she wants you to get on with your life. By the way, nice flower arangement and what's important is even though she's gone, she'll always be with you and hopefully you all will meet on the other side.
