I've been a #VFL since the Dickey era and seen a lot of come and go. I do think we're getting better and will continue to improve. I thought before the season if we win 3-4 games it would be good as long as you see some improvement in play. I believe CP is heading in the right direction trying to get the guys to buy into it and not think they're just playing for a "Participation in Life" certificate. That being said I think JG is decent but still a little slow at making deciesions and if you notice his throws, 4 out of 5 passes are behind his recievers. I think CP doesn't want to throw the younger class guys at QB into his offense because of the continued shuffling of the offense line and trying to find a combination that will jell together as a unit. I do believe that Keller should get a chance to play at least a half with the first offense to see what he can do then let JG in if there isn't any improvement. Keller only gets limited PT and limited plays but if you noticed when he was in earlier the offense seemed to react quicker and he seemed more comfortable back there. I think he understands his role but his confident enough to help the offense flow better and with the meat of the schedule upon us I believe it's worth a look.

I'm beginning to think our best shot at an SEC win is SC. Now obvious to me that some of the OL lack talent no reason for them to continue to be terrible at run blocking and pass protection. After four games you should have technique down then overall talent comes into play. JG still not a great decision maker on some plays but he is improving so hopefully that will continue.

Play calling just too predictable and they run to left to side 90% of time

We have a chance of beating SC and Vandy both if we continue to improve. TN State played Vandy pretty tough and about beat them. I think the bye week will give them time to work on the mental mistakes that we seem to make way too often.

On defense, I saw improvement in having players in the right place to make a play. But countless times they didn't tackle and make the play they were in position to make. What we had thought was our best MLB missed tackles throughout. Pruitt is teaching, they showed signs of learning, but Pruitt can't make the tackles for them.

On offense, why can't our QB read a defense and check out of a play that he should be able to see is going to blow up in our face. I saw Ga move 2 defenders up on our LT's edge, the play was a handoff to our RB off LT and he got clobbered before he took a step. Our OLine never communicates with each other as I see other teams do. Our QB doesn't ever read the D's alignment when he's calling the play. I see this time and time again every game and wonder why our OCoordinator isn't doing something about it.

We run to the left because that is where Smith is. No sense in running to a spot where no one is blocking. When the OL can even slow down the D rush it is IMPOSSIBLE to open up the play book and get really aggressive with the play calling. Our OL can't do the simple things, no way they can wild with the play calling right now. We have to learn to execute the play and do your job everytime.

I want you to share some of that smoke you got. They rolled into the music city last week and beat Vandy handily. I'd like to beat them but I think Vandy will be our weakest SEC opponent.

Like it or not defenses are playing a lot smarter now than in years past. They disguise, they shift,etc...Years back I felt the offense had the advantage every play simply because they knew the play. We have old school coach. One tactic a lot of teams are using on offense is to stretch the field. When this is done the down linemen have a better idea who the rushers are going to be. That's problematic with UT currently because UT is wanting to build a power run offense using two tight end sets. Thus the constant "loaded box". Doesn't help the passing game very much either.

Our best chance is still Vandy. They're terrible
