You realize bama lost 9 starters on defense right?
Bama's secondary is going to be really young and inexperienced. However, that is Saban's specialty. They may get burnt in the first couple of games but as the season progresses they'll get consistently better.
Josh Chapman has already proven to be an able replacement to Cody.
Hightower steps right in and replaces McClain.
Dareus wasn't a starter last year and was the MVP of the bowl game.
Bama will be fine on D.

Bama lost 10 starters on D, all new linemen, and lb's. I know that a lot of the new starters have significant experience, but there will be a dropoff from last season. The secondary is very young. In my opinion, this dropoff will keep Bama from repeating as National Champs.
Bama's "new" d-lineman Marcel Dareus is the best d-lineman in the league in his 1st year starting. They'll be ok

Being OK and Dominant are two completely different things. I will agree Bama will be OK on D in 2010 they won't be a Dominate D like last season. Bama rode that D last season to a NC while most of the time the O struggled (see UT vs. Bama 09 for details).
Football is a Team Sport, it takes all 11 players to make a great D. D Linemen no matter how good can't cover WR's, and Bama has issues in their secondary.
I am not saying Bama will be terrible, I am just saying they can expect a drop off from last season on D. The secondary has issues,Kinda like the 09 O-Line was gonna suffer from losing three starters ( Smith, Caldwell and Davis) from the '08 team.....Oh waitand a big test will come when Bama goes to Arkansas with Mallet throwing it all over the field. I like Arkansas' chances in that game.
It is too bad that the Vols won't have much of a passing game this season because teams that do will case Bama some problems until the secondary gets up to speed.
Just my 2 cents.
Georgia......12th? That prediction alone discredits you as too having any clue what so ever as a prognosticator.1. Bama 2. South carolina. 3. Florida 4. Lsu. 5. Tennessee 6. Miss st 7. Auburn 8. Arkansas 9.kentucky 10. ole miss 11. Vandy 12. Georgia
