It is beyond comprehension why Crompton is allowed to continue making a fool of himself and this team. The players are only going to take so much and they will shut down against the coaches. It has started and will continue until this qb is replaced.

Do you all remember the SEC Championship game against Auburn with Manning? The receivers had had enough of the endless rant about the golden boy Manning. I can still see the look on Manning's face after the receivers dropped pass after pass after pass after pass. Manning willed that win against the WR's. Then here comes T. Martin the next season and you have all of this cohesion.

These players don't give a rats @@@ about the University of Tennessee, but they do expect the coaches to put them in a position to win.

Nice rant, but what's your point? The second paragraph makes no sense. Are you saying that the receivers INTENTIONALLY dropped the passes? Really? And somehow Peyton forced them to start catching them??? And what is the point of the third paragraph? Is it a lead in to yet another JC bashing thread? Please tell me it isn't.

I haven't seen the game yet, but from the looks of the posts here today, there must have been plenty of blame to go around. That.. and the fact that I think we have a bunch of key injuries too... I think Reveiz is more missed than we all know... he was the clubhouse leader I think, and that isn't easily replaced.

What proof do you offer that a mutiny has started? Are the players picketing? Can you offer any quotes? :ermm:

What do you attribute this too? Do you have inside information? And I would take 'golden boy' any day of the week.

Silly thread. Receivers are very stat focused. If the ball is coming their way they'll do their absolute best to catch it.

This was probably Crompton's best game (a pretty low bar, I know) but he actually played well enough for UT to win. He had another fumbled snap but he only threw 1 pass that I thought should have been picked off. The receivers dropped a ton of balls. Crompton missed plenty of open receivers as well but aside from the fumbled snap he avoided the crushing mistakes.

Crompton's performance would make me feel better if I didn't know that Auburn's defense sucked. When he plays UGA and South Carolina the going will be tougher.

I don't think it's the start of a mutiny but the receivers, specifically Warren, flipped out on Coach Wilson last night because he was coming down hard on them for dropping balls and they were in a tirade about how Crompton was the reason for most of the dropped passes.

Warren was actually blaming Crompton for his dropping the ball? Is that verifiable? If it is true.. he definitely needs an attitude adjustment. Dropped passes are one thing.. Uncatchable passes are another, and this smells of dropped passes, in which case I tend to back the coach.

It actually happened. He was pulled away from the group and I believe he was kept on the sidelines for the remainder of the game. I don't think you can catch it on T.V. but he and Coach Wilson were yelling back and forth.

Are you all too dumb to remember what Stephens looked like last season and in the spring?

This seems like a pretty cut and dry issue to me. The recievers are getting alot of crap from the coaches when they drop a pass. They shouldn't drop passes I agree, but they are really getting tired of being the blame for Cromptons inability to throw accurately. Yes they have performed pretty poorly but so has Crompton. Tell me this, who is getting yelled at and blamed by the coaches. The recievers, Crompton doesn't get yelled at or chewed out when he continues to throw poorly. The WR are simply tired of it and I dont blame them, get on Cromptons ass too. If the WR dont perform they try someone else, should do the same thing at QB. The people that say Stephens isn't the answer, , have you seen him play this year. Me neither, so he just might do a better job, who knows. By the way, the WR are only going to continue to shut down and get pissed.

You have an extremely active imagination.

The only mutiny I see is with all the fair-weather UT fans that thought we would win the NC this year with no QB, no depth on the O-Line and a defense that plays their asses off for 44 minutes of the game.

epic fail, the OP should be forced to walk the plank and swallowed up in Davey Jones locker.

I wouldn't call it a mutiny, but I'll try to make a little sense out of this thread.
I do think that the receivers are really tired of having passes thrown behind them 90% of the time. Because of that, whenever a pass play could be coming their way, they are probably not even expecting it to come anywhere near them. That really might have them playing on their heels, and not working hard enough on every down.
Sooooo, when it seems like a blown pass-play is the receiver's fault, it might simply be because they are not working as hard for JC as they would for a more consistent QB. I don't think that's blantant, and an attempt at sticking it to JC. It's probably just subconscious.
Still, EVERYONE on this team needs to pick it up about ten notches.

the vast majority of the players are not fans of the backup either. SO what does mutiny get them???
