I Sorely miss John Ward. If the younger guys here could know how good he was. I have a hard time explaining my thoughts here, when he was the "Voice" it seemed we all were closer.. a Team. Now we fuss at each other and bicker over stats. Ward was and Is.. a Legend.

There will never ever be anyone that compares to John Ward. I sincerely miss him saying "give him six" or "met by a host of volunteers".

Nothing gets me more fired up than hearing his voice.

Who remembers turning down the TV and turning up the stereo system?? God I miss that.

John Wards voice brings back so many memories of me and my dad listening to the games while in his rig. As the poster said above, watching on TV and listening to the radio, we did that so many times.:salute:

Love John Ward, happy they did this--but didn't think it was very good. Not very focused. Should have added some audio clips of Ward calling games....

Who was he talking to? There is no mention of the host. I thought it was Heath Shuler.

Also, what is GBO Insider--what does GBO mean?

Thanks, BigSteve!

The very last one against Clemson remains one of my all-time favorite plays. I was just a small boy and was at that game with my late mother. I just could not believe that play. It will always have a special place in my heart.

Holloway and Seivers became my heroes on that day.

When I was younger in my teens and early twenties I would watch the game on TV and I would list to the broadcast on a local radio station just to hear John's commentary. That was an awesome time!!!

Point made; however, I think Bobby Denton was the man who used to say "host of Volunteers".
