Lol, cops. That one cop was so stereotypical you almost wouldn't think it's real. :eek:lol:

That's called contemp of cop.

The one cop even said he is innocent and knows his Constitutional rights.

Adding to that, I've watched seminars online from respected law professors and even former police officers/detectives that have discussed in depth the ways that police attempt to use your ignorance of the law to do you harm. Including the dog sniffing technique, where police commonly signal the animal to make a "hit".

'Murca.

Watched about 2 mins or so. Not so sure the kid is right about not showing id, esp at a checkpoint.

But in any event he begins the encounter by declining to lower his Window. Seems like he was trying to antagonize the cop, who I would also say was unprofessional in his tone, surely.

You do not have to show your id unless you are suspected of a crime

Did you watch the part where they brought the dog in for "probable cause"?

He scoffs at the kid for citing the constitution. If you have a problem with the constitution, you have no business having anything to do with the law in any way.

And, as an added bonus, I will guarantee you that his license plate is in an "unofficial" list now and he will get hassled to the ends of the earth.

He was being a smartass about the kid. That cop should face dismissal. The problem is that they won't do a damn thing. Checkpoints create DUI's that create funding. If the court decides all you have to do is quote your rights, one of two things will happen: 1) they will automatically "smell" alcohol or weed, or 2) cops will refuse to man checkpoints. Which do you think will happen?

In Florida that is not correct.

That's part of the problem. People read bad legal advice, particularly from cause type websites, and proceed to look for a chance to show up the police.
