The guy in the video suggested the graphics are slightly better on the PS4 in most of the multiplatform games. I found that interesting.
When does the update drop?
Technically, on paper, the PS4 is a bit more 'powerful.' However, there are some pluses and minuses on each system.
This was the same for 360/PS3 but Sony used their own chip and architecture for the system. To simplify things here, game devs would program on a PC and XBOX because they are pretty much identical. Then, you put it on PS3 and you have to make changes because it's basically another language. So, you do what you can but most dev time is spent on the PC/360 version.
This generation, Sony has finally quit using their own chips and gone with the same setup as PCs and the X1. So, add in that their hardware (for the most part) is a bit better, and you can see why the PS4 might look better in some games. I don't think it's a huge difference, but out of the gate devs are having better luck getting things running on the PS4.
Sony's problem is PSN. It's no where near LIVE. MS has the advantage here because they are a software company and they had a few years head start with online.
Not all that surprising since the PS4's hardware is supposedly superior. A technogeek that actually knows what's inside that shiny box would have to chime in to confirm.
I think it's surprising based on history. The reason the last gen was even or slightly swayed towards Microsoft is the whole developer issue. Everything was made for Xbox and ported over to PS3 IIRC, even though PS3 was technologically superior. It seems like I've heard that the PS4 is a lot easier to develop for this time around.
Sony finally learned from their mistakes in the media wars with bluray. Maybe they finally learned from their mistakes in the console wars with PS4.
hope this changes. i've been leaning ps4 but it mostly depends on what my friends get. It'll be a while though (a year at least) because i just built a new pc.Sony's problem is PSN.
