msnbc knows NOTHING about college football, do not worry about it. That poll may be the craziest poll I have ever seen.

The only one who used to have any sports credibility is Olberman. I guess he's lost forever now.

Olberman knows diddly! He's just a loud mouthed liberal who has a show that nobody bothers to watch.

Usually, your show won't stay on the air very long if nobody watches it.

Actually, I don't watch him. I was just using common sense.

Apparently the same goes for the coaches poll. Anyone who would put UF at number 3 after the kind of losses they have had on defense is a complete idiot.

You're always going to have voters who - right or wrong - vote the defending national champs artificially high or even #1 regardless.

You shouldn't take preseason polls seriously most of the time. It is just harder for lower ranked teams to make the climb up the polls. So the higher you start out, the better chance you have to make it to the big one if everything goes your way.

It is what it is . . . Something to talk about and not much else.

I wish that were true, but sometimes they really do matter. It's hard for teams that are ranked low in the beginning of the season to crawl up even if they are better than a team ranked ahead of them. At the same time though, I don't feel sorry for the teams who are victim to that outcome (Auburn in 04) because it's their own fault they didn't schedule tougher non-conference games.
