'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

You can also get double donor rank points if you donate to NIL through school directly. Not sure what the funds actually called. I usually call it in after a big win.

Yes, but Pope still coached him up.

People are being way too critical of him. Yeah Tyreek King is a Knoxville boy, but how many times has that backfired on Tennessee?
But he’s all Vol and he’s one of the most explosive players in 2026 overall, and Pope snagged him.

Yeah he missed on Keys (for right now), but so did Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Texas, and Alabama. So do they suck now??
King is small peanuts compared to Keys, Pope is expected to land guys like King

Those schools currently have studs at WR and consistently land multiple top 15 WRs every cycle. We do neither and don’t currently even have a WR even remotely close to his caliber on the recruiting board

Y'all are way too hard on Pope.

Thornton, Stayley, Matthews, Brazzell, King for 2026 are all studs.

Yes he's missed out on many highly rated guys, but all of these guys didn't ended signing up with the same school 😑.

What about every other school that missed on this same guys?? They didn't all sign with the same school so, at best that guy 1 guy and also missed on the same guys as Pope
How is Thorton a stud? Because he had a good 40 time? He was good last year but a stud? All the guys you just listed are unproven. We hope they are studs. I mean honest question. What WR has Pope coached up that has really improved significantly? Nobody at the moment. Hopefully that changes. But our WRs have been bad for two years straight.

They let Milton and Nico down pretty bad. Nico’s best option was Kitzleman a TE.

You didn’t have to take it this far. I still haven’t even recovered from yesterday yet.

Nobody knows how any of these players will actually project until we see it on the field. I have seen sure 5 star bust and 3 star all Americans. GBO

Everyone you named are still very much unproven in college. I’m hard on him because our WR play has been mediocre at best the past two years and it seems to be costing us some big time recruits.

lol the dumbest reply always when regarding NIL. You have no idea if I donate or not. But I will say, not everybody has the means, whereas many people around this program could hold nil down without ever noticing a difference in their lifestyle. Sure it may help if we all pitched in a little, but the big NIL will always be from the top.

If we put all of our quarters together we may land a 4 star WR though lol

In all seriousness this isn’t a NIL thing imo like I’ve said anyways. LSU has a better track record at developing WRs than we do atm. It’s really that simple

One of Lsu biggest NiL donors young guy in his 40's he owns Rasing Cane's Chicken Finger place. He is worth 8 billion so if you don't want to help Lsu don't eat there. Eat at Slim Chicken Zaxby's Ect. In CHRIST Alone

That’s pretty much LSUs only notable donor and from everything I hear he doesn’t go as hard as he goes. I could be wrong, I just have some close to LSU people in my life and they portray their NIL is rather pathetic to be blunt.

Geography too. In that part of the World is Roh Tahd and Geaux Tahgers.

We would've likely had to over pay.

From Rivals:

Keys is just days removed from committing out of state to LSU. However, we're far from the finish line in this recruitment. Since committing to the Tigers, the No. 2-ranked receiver in the Rivals250 has already been on campus at Ole Miss and Texas A&M. Other programs, such as Alabama and Tennessee, are also expected to press LSU for Keys' commitment.

I saw Preston Williams as a sophomore and knew he was gonna be a 5 star his senior year. He was.

And then was a college bust.

5 star busts aren’t uncommon. Top 3-5 players being non factors is extremely uncommon though. Also I’m not necessarily talking solely about how they turn out as much as I am the fact that Pope should be able to cherry pick an in state player isn’t even a consensus 4 star. He’s yet to show he can win a recruiting battle for a player that is at the top of everyone else’s board though, and we can’t really point to Mike Matthews to argue that considering not every team wanted him as a WR and Clemson was our main competition for him as a WR and they ended up landing 2 guys that were better

For some reason we continue to neglect that position along with DB and RB when it comes to recruiting and the portal if you compare it to how we recruit QBs and DEs. Even the OL, LB, and TE recruiting has significantly improved the last 2 cycles
I agree and it puzzles me that a team like LSU has a reputation for recruiting wr and dbs. It’s not the same coaching staff as before. Why do people think LSU is good at developing wrs and dbs just because they are LSU!

It is a different coaching staff, but have you seen the NFL rosters? The high quality and quantity in both areas (wr and db) that LSU has produced over the last 15 years is unmatched.....
