'26 MS WR Tristen Keys (lsu commit)

From Rivals:

Tristen Keys came away with several touchdown grabs on Saturday as the five-star WR from Mississippi made his presence felt in a big way. Keys was at his best working over the middle of the field and operating in the end zone -- with his frame, his vertical, his hands all coming into play. Rivals' No. 2 WR is a plus route-runner with elite traits -- and his polish was on display today.

Was unaware that high school football was played in the Spring.

Notice when he elevates for the football, after he catches it he still has the athletic ability and BALANCE to land on his feet and continue running.

Squirrel White was a good athlete, but he would literally fall Everytime he would leave his feet for a catch. Most players their legs lock because they’re focusing on the catch.

This kid though- he’s still in playmaker mode while in the air and is able to position his body to land under control and ready to run.

Amazing athlete

Need to get this guy to publicly announce his commitment soon. Gotta get some momentum rolling, crucial to finally get a top 5 class this cycle. No excuse not to at this point.

Will not be a top 5 class. Will be 8-12ish again and will fill needs through portal.

Also a bit silly to say no excuse. 1 - you’re dealing with 18 year olds. 2 - What if they just don’t want to be a Vol? Supposed to kidnap them?

3. There’s more than five other programs with equal or better resources

except its not crucial, and no we don't "gotta get some momentum rolling" to get a Top 5 class. that is just something you made up in your head with zero evidence to back it up.

in 2025, Oregon had only 2 four stars committed by this point. Ohio State had 4 four star commitments. Bama had 0 four stars, Georgia had 2, Texas had 2. those were the Top 5. none of them had more "momentum" than we do now.

you really worried that all that "momentum" Kansas has right now means they will end up with a better class than us? Should we be worried about Illinois? they are right behind us.

Its freaking March, calm down. let them cook. I have pointed it out elsewhere. we already have more 4*s than we did going into June of last year.

We are in on some really big time skill dewds. That's where your rankin's come from, feller.

All joking aside, TK is a dude. And would give us that down the field threat. He's a player teams have to account fer.

Exactly. Didn’t see your post before I made mine.

Tennessee collectively has a really good NIL but for the most part you don’t have the big money that you do for some programs. Some programs have awesome collectives and they have one or two super boosters that can come in and basically just straight up buy a class by themselves.

No excuse. Wanna win a championship gonna have to put the work into it. It’s been a tremendous job to get us to the level we are now. But the hardest step it going from very good program to elite program. It’s not all on coaches, it’s on everyone. NIL, current players, current commits, everyone gotta put that work in.

The amount kids that don’t wanna go somewhere just because is far and few this day in recruiting. Relationships and money talk more than ever, very few just go where they grew up dreaming about playing. Work harder than anyone else to build said relationships, pay more than anyone else with key recruits.

Tennessee has recruited top 5 at times. To think it’s incapable of it is a little silly, why should we settle for 8-12 every year? Why is there a ceiling on the program currently in your opinion?

Momentum could still be very crucial. You’re talking about programs that have consistently landed top 5 classes for years now, yes they can take their sweet time for commits because they’re confident at the end of the day they will land them. For us, getting some top kids in early to peer recruit could be very beneficial. Of course you just have to work just as hard to keep them commited if you do get early commits.

we already have more "momentum" than we had last year, or really any year. by a sizeable margin. we didn't even have Nico at this point in 2023.

2026: 1 5*, 4 4*, 3 3*.
2025: 0 5*, 2 4*, 4 3*
2024: 0 5*, 1 4*, 2 3*
2023: 0 5*, 1 4*, 3 3*

never had a 5 star this early, never had 4 4stars this early.

you could add up all the bluechip kids from those previous three classes and not have what we have now.

I don’t consider it settling. I consider it part of the process. 2 really good years with one pretty good year in between and all the sudden we should expect the next step?

It’s a process. Enjoy it. Or don’t and be unhappy with where we are 🤷🏻‍♂️

When was the last time we legitimately recruit d a real top 5 class? Butchs don’t count because his per recruit average was outside the top 10.
