The higher your signees the more potential for a true star to emerge out of the class...the lower the class, the least likely you see a star emerge. CBJ wins these bouts year after year....just be patient VN....

Look at Florida & what happened to them last night. I love seeing them get curb stomped & in so doing some of their recruits could & will take another look around & maybe see TN in a new light. Florida is not all that. We just need a couple more good skill players to come in & we will have some competition against these teams that we used to beat. :good!:

The only thing that game did was get Louisville some positive attention. Kids may take a half second look at Louisville that werent before but it will not affect Florida at all.

I don't know about anybody else around here but im sick and tired of having to hope that all of our low rated recruits are diamonds in the rough. I want players that every team wants, not a bunch of left overs and no names.

How high were Louisville's classes ranked seeing as they just beat the tar out of all those 4&5 star recruits? Its about finding players that are going to get better in college and being able to get them better. A lot of the highly ranked recruits have topped out. It happens more often than you think.

Gators averaged finishing 6th in the country in recruiting according to rivals over the last 5 years.

Cardinals averaged finishing 50th in the country in recruiting according to rivals over the past 5 years.

Recruiting rankings means very little. Developing talent means much more.

I disagree. Bammer goin for its 4th NC in 5 years. They have top 5 recruiting every year. Heck, for that matter all of the past Nc's have had top recruiting classes. Bama, LSU, FLa. When we won NC in 98 we had great recruiting. ITS ALL ABOUT RECRUITING

probably not a good idea to call someone an idiot in the same post you claim bama is going for it's 4th NC in 5 years. It's also against board rules to do so :hi:

I would say it has more to do with the combination of both. Good coaching and decent recruiting gets you what you have at Cincy, Louisville, et al. Great Coaching + great recruiting = Alabama. Not many put it together like Bama does. You can't have sustained success having one and not the other.

How can we say that "we are way ahead of the game in this category" ?

CBJ has won before at the NCAA level. Two MAC championships and the share of the Big East twice. He's been awarded theConference Coach of the Year Award... He's also 2-1 against the HC that beat UF by 10 points last night.

I was just trying to say that we might not finish in the top 25 this year in recruiting, but we did in the past three seasons and how'd that turn out? In my opinion we now have a coach who seems to be able to win and or mold descent talent into good players.

Would it have been better if I would've said "We are way ahead of the game in the category compared to our last two head coaches ...

There are so many open spots right now, the Vols could end up around 15 in recruiting. The recruits are listening to CBJ and scheduling visits
