Mostly optimistic post game thoughts

I still stand by my point that I don't think Alabama vs Tennessee is a real rivalry because they are so far ahead of us across the board that it is sad. They could literally look at us the way we look at Vandy.
You do realize we are 2-2 vs them in the last 4 years, right?

Yeah, Ole Miss beat them back-to-back years with Hugh Freeze when they had Saban, are they a rival now?
It's however you define a rivalry. It's open to various interpretations. The game has a rich tradition even though the series has been mostly one-sided.

.... but if you don't wish to think of it as a rivalry? Fine. No skin off my butt.

Our team is one of the youngest teams in the SEC. We are bringing in another great recruiting class. We are position to continue to improve if we focus NIL resources on the right players, continue to hit good value in the portal, and have the right support personnel on staff.

You are correct. Patience is in order. Not having Florida and Georgia on schedule every year may beak things up for a positive way for us as well. We have really struggled since the 1992 SEC East format against both (especially Florida).

Actually, we were 8-0 vs Georgia from 1992-1999 .... and a majority of those games were blowouts. I remember 38-6 in '93, 41-24 in '94, 38-13 in '97, 22-3 in '98 and 37-20 in '99.

Just looking at the box score, we absolutely should’ve been in that game in the 4th quarter.

Defense held up better than it seemed. This team still has the potential to get into the playoffs. Coaches have to make more sound decisions in critical situations. We need to run the football more and not do stupid stuff in either redzone.

The series was pretty much even before Saban took over. That 15 year stretch did a number. Born in 85, I also witnessed us put a streak on them in the 90s so history shows it's been a streaky series. For me it's a rivalry. That's the game for me every year.

Heupel is too loyal to multiple underperforming coaches. Is this the offseason Banks takes a HC position?
Everybody wanted Martinez gone, cornerback was our strongest position last year. Everyone wanted Elarbee gone, we're top three in rushing yards and sacks allowed in the SEC while recruiting insanely well, everyone wanted Pope gone, now receivers are one of the biggest strengths on the field. Can we just admit that we don't know as much as we think we do? Hiring a safeties coach seems to be a solution to a lot of our problems, that's what I'd like to see happen
