Cam Sutton being a 3 star got me thinking... what are the most underrated recruits out of high school for the Vols?

Here're my picks (rankings per Rivals):

2 Stars:

Dontavis Sapp
Inquoris Johnson

3 Stars:

Cam Sutton
Brian Randolph
Mychal Rivera
Denarius Moore
Ramon Foster
Anthony Parker

4 Stars:

Cordarrelle Patterson (I think JUCOs can't be 5 stars...right?)

5 Stars:

Eric Berry - yes. Underrated. He should have been #1 in that class. He was #3 behind Jimmy Clausen and Joe McKnight.

Damn, looking back at our classes - 2004-2008 were some $HITTY Classes. I mean really really bad. Sometimes I forget how bad Fulmer's recruiting was at the end of his tenure.

Wasn't Nick Reveiz a walk-on at one point? (not to mention his father, Fuad, who was a last-minute pickup in fall camp in 1981)

Some of those were ranked really high. What killed Fulmer was player development.

coming off a 5-7 season didn't help. I also think there was some arrogance. Complacency as well. My opinion only

I thought Dennis Rogan was very under rated as well as Devron Young. I'm not saying this because there local kids but they were better than there ratings coming out of highschool. What do you all think? GO VOLS!

Fulmer got lazy, and the times passed him by. Good coach in the late 90s (even though he couldn't win a nc with manning, little, Nash, Lewis, Wilson, and all the other stars on that team). He stayed at ut too long, and it really hurt us.

In terms of HS ranking, success at UT and the NFL, Peerless Price takes the cake. Will never forget that TD reception against FSU in Tempe. Not sure exactly what his star rating was back then but it was low and he wasn't expected to do much of anything at Tennessee.

An Ohio State friend of mine says that Peerless was highly sought after by the Buckeyes. There were people who thought a lot of him. How about Luke Stoker being a 3 star...

JUCOs can be 5-stars, on some sites at least. D'haquille Williams, WR that committed to LSU, then decommitted, is listed as a 5-star on 247... currently the #1 JUCO WR, until Lavon Pearson takes that spot.

Even though we had Jason Whitten, the most talented TE I ever saw at UT was Dustin Moore - an averaged ranked RB out of Greeneville in '94. That guy was crazy fast for someone his size. Unfortunately, he was another in a long line of talented athletes who weren't able to stay on track and fulfill their potential.

Orlando Brown. I truly never seen a 3* ranked #45 in their position with 35 offers. And the offers aren't "okay" school they are "big time" school (Alabama/Auburn/Notre Dame/OSU/etc.)

I think a lot of those offers came earlier in his high school days. Many probably weren't committable.
