This to me is our most realistic finish as it stands RIGHT NOW.

This can obviously change a ton over the next two weeks, but if I had to put money down this is what I would bet on.

RB - Jonathan Ford
WR - Marquez North
OL - Chongo Kondolo
DL - Carl Lawson
DL - Davin Bellamy
DL - Jaylen Miller
LB - EJ Levenberry

Lose Joe Sanders and maybe pick up one more lower ranked RB like Keyante Green.

This should be everyone's expectation level and anything else should make everyone ecstatic.

The following are players we do not lead for and would take an amazing finish by our coaches to land any of them.

Von Bell, Derrick Green, Christian Morris, Tyler Boyd, ect.

If we land what I listed above it would be a TREMENDOUS job by our coaches and anything else would be spectacular.

If you're going to put RIGHT NOW in all caps, Levenberry needs to be moved to the list at the bottom, IMO. I love all the optimism and am hoping his visit is stellar but RIGHT NOW he is committed to FSU and they are still the leader. Again, not saying we don't get him but there's still work to be done. Hopefully he will belong on the top list after this weekend.

This is either going to be an incredible finish or disappointing dud. With Carr's announcement I am hoping it is the former. That could start the dominos falling our direction for a change. If so, CBJ will have the momentum he needs going into spring practice.

If it is the finish we all want:

Defense
Lawson
Bell
Levenberry
Bellamy

Offense
North
Ford
Skipper (keep)
Kondolo

Getting Green or Barber changes the RB list above as would Morris for O-line. Not sure they want to lose Sanders yet, although he is probably on the bubble.

I will bet $$$ that Lawson signs with Auburn. He and Reuben Foster have a visit scheduled there the weekend before NSD.

Just based on the sum of comments made here, it seems that Levenberry would be more of a surprise than Bell. Bell's comments make it sound like he's looking for a reason not to pull a trigger for UT and will be a Vol if he does not find one.

For some reason I think Von Bell ends up a Vol! A friend of mine in Chatt., that knows the family, told me that Bell's family was extremely impressed with CBJ bringing in his staff to meet them. Bell has been a fan of TN since childhood. I think we land him also. Lawson is a probable for me. Green I think goes to Michigan.

I hate how we are consistently the underdog for big names. For the past 3-4 years I haven't felt that we've had any momentum with the top guys.

True, I think I just feel like Levenberry has a soft spot for TN, doesn't like Sal and has been getting the love by Thigpen.

I like the chain of events I think could transpire.

But you are right, RIGHT now he should be on the lower part.

Even more reason for people to slightly lower their expectations.

If we miss out on the running backs offered the staff needs to recruit Jalen Hurd that much harder.

I think it would be nice to have an elite RB in the class. However I would much rather see the emphasis on defensive playmakers. I would prefer any of 7 or 8 possible D commits to Green. Not because they're better players but because UT needs D more than O.

Lane, Neal, and the other returning guys will be more than adequate if the OL makes holes. UT can then position themselves with elite '14 RB's. Freshmen RB's seem to be the most likely to contribute in a big way so you lose less by missing this year than missing on defensive players that usually need development.

I think we get will get P. Barber if Lawson signs with us. Him, Jenkins and Lawson are good friends. And I think Bellamy will not be far behind. IMO C. Lawson is the rock that starts the avalanche.

I agree with you, but I think we get Bell. IMHO when we land Lawson other guys on the defensive side of the ball that want to play early will follow. They are just waiting on that 1 big time recruit ie Lawson to commit

I agree, we can survive not signing an elite back this class, however we do need a good one, but we cannot survive not reloading the O and D lines and getting some playmakers for LB and secondary.

I hope you are right and maybe we get Carr to get V.Bell on board and then maybe we can start some other tremors to this avalanche...

They're friends through the recruiting process. Carr was with Bell at the Bama OV and will be coming in this weekend as an unofficial visitor to be with Bell on Bell's OV. Carr is working it. Carr may turn out to be the biggest impact recruit for us this year. Jenkins would be a close second as he's close to and in the ear of Lawson and a couple others.
