The record is 295 in 2004. UT has given up 226 so far with SC, Ark, Vandy, and Kentucky still to go. UT needs to not give 70 more pts the rest of the season to keep from breaking this infamous record.

if i did the math correctly, that means we have to keep teams from scoring at least 14 points on average the next 5 games. don't see it happening.

It's just a matter of how high the opponents point total ends up. This record will be broken... very soon.

This record will not only be broken, but it will be shattered. After this season it will never be broken again. (Hopefully)

I cannot imagine a Tennessee "D" playing any uglier than this. But then agian, it the same staff is back next year... I don't know if things can get better before they get worse.

We have given up 100 points to our two biggest rivals. There have been 48 teams in the history of UT football who have gone AN ENTIRE SEASON without giving up 100 points.

That 295 PA in '04 includes 45 pts scored against us in the SECCG and Cotton Bowl, the most points allowed in the regular season is 286 in '88.

THis is the most amazing UT record, its also the NCAA Modern record:

Consecutive Shutouts*17 from Nov. 5, 1938, to Oct. 12, 1940

IMO it will never be broken.

Also 1939 season record of giving up 0 points for the entire season will probably never be broken as well.
