Do you guys realize all 5 losses are to SEC (hands down the toughest conference in college football, unprecedented) 5 teams in the top 15 of the BCS with a combined record of 36-5? Of course, all 5 losses are to those in the top 15 of the BCS. Do you remember UT was competitive in all 5 losses except 1? Do you realize no one has been competitive with Bama this year? Do you realize that UT had a very good chance of winning 3 of those games with last years DC? Whoever brought in an unproven DC needs to be fired now!!! If it was ultimately Dooley, see ya Dooley. If not, fire whoever brought in Sal. The D is PATHETIC!!!

This isn't the 90s and early 00s anymore! UT doesn't have to just annully beat UF to win the SEC East anymore! There are atleast 7 great reasons, possibly 8 (Spurrier, Muschamp, Richt, Mullen, Sumlin, whoever Arky hires?, Miles, and Saban) reasons why one of UT's top three choices for a HC must be hired before Dooley should be told to hit the door! Don't be unrealistic and think a lot of coaches can come into the SEC and coach against the likes of the coaches named above and consistently compete for SEC East Titles, much less SEC Titles and NC appearances!!!

Please put out a list of PROVEN HCs and PROVEN RECRUITERS or a very probable top five recruiter to replace Dooley. If UT can get one of it's top 3 choices that is proven in coaching and recruiting or potential to be a beast recruiter. I am all for replacing Dooley. If not, wait until UT can get their guy, don't settle like 2009!!!

Everybody knew switching to a 3-4 this year was a bad idea. Everybody knew we would get beat up in October. It just seemed like we were snakebit. the last part of the schedule is easier. The last time we won 8 games was 2007. Take it EZ

And do you realize we haven't won 1 meaningful conference game under Dooley. It doesn't matter what they're ranked, we play these teams every season and it's not acceptable to never beat any of them.

There are no moral victories. That's why it is W or L without asterisks. BUT, the same people that mock "moral victories" will be quick to claim a "moral defeat" if the scores are close in games the Vols win from here on this season.

No, I'm sorry I reject that statement. Dooley will be fired...and the person who brought in Sal was Dooley. Dooley sucks...boom goes the dynamite.

I agree with all of your arguments and stances. I am just stating the obvious that has been stated by a few others. I want to know who ultimately hired Sal. If Dooley is the guy. He needs to go now. If not, unless a Spurrier, Miles, or Saban is hired that is a proven coach and proven recruiter. Dooley should stay!

I've always found Volnation to be a consistent source of rational, level headed conversation that never leads to anything radical or "unrealistic".....

Could be just me though.

I remember the days when we won games between September and November. In those days the coach was not named Dooley.

How is it unrealistic to believe we could win again? 0 for October 3 years straight is unacceptable.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

I'm thinking that might have been at the suggestion of Hart. I think perhaps it was also Hart who would not agree to extentions for the former defensive coaches.

Since Hart is in charge of hiring and firing -- you might be suggesting that he fire himself. Not likely to happen.

Now now. Lets take it easy on poor Dooley. He is doing the best that he can. If we give him enough time, he will surely win one of these games.

It's unrealistic to expect someone that is 0-23 against the top 25 in 6 years to start winning in year 7.
