Just saw that too. Hope it’s Venables but I doubt he leaves Clemson. Steele would be a terrible hire. I guess it would mean you got your 10th choice.

So it's official: we're now lower than Arkansas on the SEC totem pole. Give it a few more years and we'll be lower than Miss State, Vandy, and Kentucky, as well. And yet, we'll probably still have the largest profits of any college football program.

Let's face it --- we're now the LA Clippers of college football.

But......since we're the Vols, and we won a National championship back in 1998, we are entitled to have the best coach in America!!

What happened to the Lane Train? I thought you guys said FSU and Arkansas would be fighting over Kiffin? Maybe SMU will give him an interview. Possibly he is waiting on NFL offers

We've lost the last 4 of 6 to Vandy, soooooo. And the Clippers are always making the playoffs recently, and they have a great coach. It's more like we're last on the totem pole, and we're the Sacramento Kings. Don't believe me? We're about to hire Steele I feel, and Kentucky has Mark Stoops. Stoops>Steele

We’re already there dude. We didn’t win a single SEC game this year. Since 2012 vs Vandy we are 2-4. Let that sink in. In 3 of those 4 loses Vandy scores more than 40 points against us. Right now Vandy is better than us. And there’s no deny it.

Hate to poke the hornets' nest but of all the choices that would actually say yes to TN Schiano may have actually been the best one and Currie actually did as good of a job as anyone could do. Now I'll duck and cover!

Mike Leach
Tee Martin
Chad Morris
Joe Moorhead

Those are the ones we know would've said "yes" or would have very likely said "yes." I'm not a huge Les Miles fan, but I'd take him over the names being currently mentioned. Hell, Dave Doeren is better than the names currently being mentioned. And not to mention that Dan Mullen was legitimately interested, but we apparently already decided we'd rather pursue Greg Schiano over him.

Tennessee fans need to stop thinking "NO ONE WANTS TO COACH HERE" because every single coaching search, we know there have been top-tier coaches interested in the job. We don't get those top-tier coaches because our AD doesn't want those coaches. Whether it's politics, inflated egos, misplaced frugality, or simply out of this world incompetence ... I'm not sure. The difference between Tennessee and Alabama is that Alabama went out of its way to get its man. Whereas, we want a coach who is going to grovel on his hands and knees for the Tennessee job, so we get people who would never be considered at top-tier programs.

It's why I'm just about fed up with Tennessee football. What's the point if we're not even going to try? We're Donald Steriling's LA Clippers --- immensely profitable, but we don't actually give a crap about being competitive.

I just hope this means we are going to hire Venables because he was slow playing them for us.

They are buddies and morris is probably doing this to get UT to throw a little more money at venables. Noway he leaves a championship clemson team to make a lateral move to Ark!
