Only because you guys made him sign a release before releasing him. It is called false arrest my friend. I would love to argue the little release he signed was under duress. Who wants to get Morley some legal representation and get to the bottom of this because something smells.

You're crazy. If it was really just a mistake, and there is no prosecution going forward, Morley should let sleeping dogs lie.

what does football have to do with this?

Nothing, which was sort of my point. Just couldn't figure out the reason for the nastiness. But don't sweat it, don't think we are likely to do an Ari Gold and hug it out. Not an issue.

Funny that someone posted something about quota's. I have a friend that is an officer and that is a myth. Also why would the officer not arrest him if he ran the check and a warrant came up? I do find it hard to believe that he was not arrested sooner for a warrant. This is definately an odd situation to say the least.

If it turns out that Fulmer had something to do with covering this up then the Univ. has a reasonable legal basis not to pay the buyout. This could get ugly.

Maybe but I have a personal problem with the releases the police have people sign when the cops or courts make "mistakes." Paper work mistake or not, whether the suspect is an outstanding citizen or not, what we allow the police to do effects us all. And here a guy was booked arrested and told at some point he was in life changing trouble all because of paperwork. Do you really believe this only happens every blue moon?

No, but as a practical matter, Morley should keep his head down and not draw further attention to the story. If he wants to play in the NFL, character is an issue... especially in the post-Pacman era. If he sues, lawgator is correct that the defendant will start digging into every nasty thing Morley has ever done, and it will all be exposed in the media and in a public trial. Also, because of the tenuous right to sue in the first place, and the even more tenuous ability to prevail, he has nothing to gain and everything to lose by standing on principle here. I think any decent lawyer would encourage him to just let it go quietly and hope for the best with CLK.

Just my $0.02.
