More to UT Violations story...

I realize it's early summer, but this all seems like much ado about nothing.

You know Griff, at first I thought this was a follow-up to pile on Kiff and his staff and try and keep the "Brooks" platform going. However, it does appear you have backed off your earlier assertions. Or maybe you are just saying you told us so. Anyway, let it go Louie. Lane has made some mistakes, but I think they are out of a combination of his aggressiveness in recruiting and his lack of experience. If anything our compliance dept (which knew espn was here with access) should have looked out for him better.
One thing I will fight you over...........your statement that Monte was washed up or a has been in the NFL. Bull. Double Bull. You will eat those words.

I think he said tail end of his career, and at 70 years old, Monte's nearing the finish line

Just a further rehash of your defensive position after your last blog riled the nation.

You risk another repeat because now it appears you have Monte in your sights this time.Good luck with this, you'll need it.

I just wondered aloud how Monte Kiffin would adjust to the college game....do I think UT will have the No. 3 defense in the nation again? No.

I do believe the offense will be significantly better, however, and that should help the defense out quite a bit.

Sometimes, I think, people just look for reasons to attack the messenger instead of just reading the blog/story for what it is.

Use the information in the story -- consider a different perspective. Don't be the "seven minute abs" guy like in the movie "Something about Mary''

I love the dig against Monte thrown in there.

To infer that being older directly correlates to poor results in your chosen profession flies in the face of logic; however logic hasn't stopped you before.

you should try and show some too. i think he was just throwing in the age thing to try and strengthen his argument that the pro game might not translate well into the college game. kinda unecessary on his part, but if that's what he believes.

i don't necessarily agree with griff because i believe monte will work his ass off studying the heck out of our SEC opponents. It will take a lot of adjusting, but that adjustment has already been in the works since he was hired.

He's right about the defense. The question was if the defense would improve and it's really hard to get much better than they were last year. Not to mention the fact that Monte has to adjust for the college game.

While I'm not sure I agree with much of the commentary (especially the CMK comments) at least this is an effort to put the secondary violations in perspective. ESPN runs with this stuff and acts like secondary violations are a big deal when everyone knows they're not. Griff's research shows that while CLK has had more secondary violations than other schools it's not like he's the only SEC coach that has racked up a few in the last 6 months. I know a lot of people on here complain about KNS but this is more effort then you will ever see the national media put into this kind of story.

Don't talk down to us Griff. If you don't want your blog articles commented on, don't post them. And I have some news for you. Monte doesnt have to do all the adjusting to the college game by himself. He has a pretty seasoned college staff behind him which has plenty of college experience. Ever heard of them?
It was a cheap shot to take at Monte and will not endear you to anybody. Nor will it impress us with your knowledge or writing ability. It just shows a bias.

Use the information to consider a different perspective? What you think we've been doing since December 3rd? Do you mean consider your perspective?
