Can anyone remember which team's kicker that Smokey attacked here? That was awesome.

Whoever was in charge of the Smokey Twitter takeover for the basketball game against Chattanooga was pretty funny. Especially when he got the score wrong and someone corrected and "Smokey" replied "I'm embarrassed".

Why does Smokey the dog have an E but Smoky Mountains does not?

I have wondered that myself. It got me to thinking about "whisky" vs. "whiskey", so I googled it. Apparently the scots spell it "whisky" and the irish spell it "whiskey". Therefore, I suggest that Smoky is of Scottish descent.

"Smokey" and "smoky" are both correct ways to spell the word, but the official spelling of the proper name for these mountains "Smoky." Additionally, the official park name is "Great Smoky Mountains National Park." However, the beloved park service mascot is "Smokey the Bear." Neither spelling of the word is wrong, but...
