Gloom and Doom...... Hell I am excited for our program based on the fact that we now have someone who cares about our school and traditions..... just saying we hadn't had that in 16 months, wait 15, no 13.... however the hell long the last ones were here

Its only May for everyone, but when you have a coaching change you end up not only behind on the class for that year, but for the year ahead, as other coaches have already make a connection and have a bond with those recruits..... it will be ok.... Go get a 12 pack, hit the golf course, and sing a lil Rocky Top, you will feel better.

He has been here since January and has little to zero relationships built with most of the guys they are going after, but its strictly his fault. Not the situation he was put in.

Is winning not part of our traditions???? Vandy has traditions as does Harvard. Do you want to be like them?

The guy is in over his head and our AD is to blame for the mess we are in. He has wiffed on every hire excet Pearl and more and more the pearl hire seems to be a lucky snag for MH.

All due respect...this topic has been discussed ad nauseum in the recruiting forum..

And let me get this straight....you think that because the UF's and Bama's of the world (with all of their success and head start talking to recruits) are getting recruits right now and we're not that this is proof that Dooley sucks and not an indication that he's been put behind the eight ball by the previous staffs departure?

Well....I guess we don't have to question where you're going to stand on Dooley as our coach

Howlong was the other staff here when they started pulling in good recruits? Also I thought his strength was that he had great relationships due to his being Sabans RC?
Which is it? Does he have connections or doesnt he?

You have to expect us to be behind the curve on this years class with a new coaching staff. A great example is a statement Dooley made in one article recently, stating that he and his staff were trying to keep the 2010 class together before signing day while every other staff in the SEC was hanging with and recruiting the 2011 class. It takes time for a new staff to gain the trust and respect from a recruit's family. I am confident we will end up with a solid recruiting class this year.

As LWS said...at this point last year they had one (Smith)...and of the first 5 commits we had that one was the only one that signed with us

You know that or you believe the hype that made it seem that way?

Kiffin was a loud mouth that said alot of things and hoped that some of them stuck...Dooley isn't that way at all....that's the only difference in where we stood in recruiting last year versus this year

K-Zing. It baffles me how Kiffin had the wool so firmly pulled over so many Volnation eyes.

I would bet that the majority of the Kiffin lovers on this board also voted for the "hope and change" promised by the current president. I guess the sheep want to blindly follow the one with the loudest rhetoric.

How do you know he is in over his head? Because he isn't blowing smoke up your ass about how we are going to be "Singing Rocky Top all night long?" Sure he isn't giving the sound byte and right now we don't have that winning tradition going on, but who else was we supposed to hire that late in the recruiting period? Maybe we could have gotten Mike Leach to "lock in" and great class and "turn the lights out" on our competition. I mean honestly who was we supposed to get that was available?

I like my UT with a lil class, integrity, and pride..... so have some pride, and let things work themselves out..... The sky is not falling, but you have to give him time.... saying he is in over his head before he has even coached a game at UT is stupid. Relax and enjoy the ride!

Not at all. I read it in the different recrutiing services adn so forth. Also there was a rush of energy to the program last year and everyone flet it. Not just UT fans but all around the country.

Look man I'm past Kiff, he is gone. I'm worried about our team now.

There seems to be very little if any energy to UT.

I'm not taking up for DD, but I'll start panicking once it gets closer to signing day.

The only bright spot (other then the defensive staff) Dooley has is keeping last year's class together for the most part.

I didn't have to wait to know bammer was in trouble with the Shula hire. Iwas very happy when they hired him.

I see the same thing with UT now.
