Overall is definitely less.

Tennessee football has a very discouraged feel right now. The fan base knew all we had to do was get CBJ to year 4. At year 4, his stellar classes would have matured and he would have really gotten a feel for coaching in the SEC.

Year 4 has passed and Butch lost to a Derek Mason coached Vandy and a Will Muschamp coached SC.

I think everyone is just having a hard time being optimistic right now. If not for the QB battle, I think this spring game would have a record low attendance.

With another mediocre year, sure fire pessimism will set in

The way the game is scored makes a lot of sense. It's way more practical than 1's vs. 2's. However, we have a 10 year sample of who Lyle is as a coach, and it is not pretty when facing good teams.

Next Team Up.

I'm quite optimistic.

This is the most intriguing position at this point.

Hopefully neither look bad. I doubt they throw much than a layup drill at em.

probably not. aesthetically, the spring "game" probably won't be all that interesting. and i don't think anyone should take all that much away from it.

just an opportunity to put some eyes on some players. and that's always fun.

Does anybody think we can get a better crowd than USC?

IDT the coaches ever intended to field a real game, but the team has too many injuries to scrimmage. I've heard it referred to as a "skills showcase" and they're not releasing much more than that.

And if injuries are an issue that's all it should be. There is nothing that's going to be decided during a Spring game.

If a "star" player were to get injured during the O&W game the ones begging for a scrimmage would be ripping Jones' head off.

Also, what difference does it make how many people attend a Spring game? You get to brag for a day until people move on? The day after the game is over no one cares.

I've not had much interest since they went away from the scrimmage format. I don't care much for hyped up gimmicks.

Has anyone guessed the attendance for this weekends game? Mine is 41,007.

This and this again. I lost most interest when it no longer was a game. I'll read up on it and probably yawn.:snoring:

I enjoyed the actual scrimmage games of the past. I don't care much about the "show" that it is now. But I'm at least curious of the QB performances this year.
