Chuck Oliver show was referring to the ESPN article on dark horse Heisman hopefuls and got to Dobbs. He said "ain't no way no how" Josh Dobbs wins the Heisman. He went on to mention he would be surprised if they were even mentioned as candidates.

His cohost jumped in to defend the case for Dobbs as Heisman and suggested they could be undefeated going into Bama game in right circumstances. Talked about his ability to handle media and plays well in big games, super intelligent, etc.

Oliver said Dobbs has a lot of positives but only has 5 career starts so it just "ain't gonna happen."

What really surprised me was he said "word out of knoxville is they really want someone else to emerge over Dobbs because he isn't turning into the QB they want him to be." They predicted an 8-5 record for UT.

Handles the media well?..is that part of the Heisman voting check list?

What else is on that list?

Ties his own shoes? Check
Chews with mouth shut? Check
Breathes through nose? Check
Plays the foosball? Check

Give him the Heisman!

I guess they didn't watch Dobbs at all this spring. Nor did they listen to watch his head coach had to say about him.

Well, Dobbs has 9 career starts, not 5. And how many career starts did Newton have going into his Heisman year? I don't think career starts is all that relevant.

Don't get me started on his statement that the coaches want someone else to emerge.

It takes a special kind of idiot (or media troll) to take an extremely safe position (that Josh Dobbs won't win the Heisman) and say multiple things that are both irrelevant and untrue to prove his point.

Kinda embarrassing our fan base is even using the word heisman for a guy who has never won a big game or even beat a good team.. I get anything is possible but damn lets just win 1 big game first. Lol

Dude, you couldn't tell me what the Heisman is about without looking it up. The voters don't know what they are voting for either. It's a pointless and redundant accommodation who's only purpose is to give the talking heads content to chatter about. The only reason the players will make a campaign for it is because you might get a commercial deal and you will get more chatter come the draft. Good for the player I guess...no other reason to even care.

Who cares about the Heisman? Lost all respect for that so-called award after watching Peyton Manning get shafted by it in 1997. It's a joke.
