Yeah. its easier to sell 30,000 tickets to MSU than 70,000 to UTK. 43% difference.
If UT wins 8 games this season, you wont be able to find scalped tickets next year.[/QUOTE]
That's a bit of a stretch, don't you think? I'm willing to bet they don't sell out next year with 8 wins. They'll be closer, but as long as tickets are $70 each the supply will be greater than demand.
I think this writer has it totally wrong. I don't think this has anything to do with Dooley. I like Dooley, but I know in my case personally, I am not buying season tickets because I am tired of the embarrassment that is our mens athletic department and I will not financially support this nonsense! I will of course still watch and cheer on the big orange as hard as ever. Hell, I may even go to some games, but I wont be buying tickets from the university. I don't like Jimmy Cheek and they are going to have to prove to me that they are headed in the right direction before they see a dime of my money ever again. If they make a good hire in the AD position it would be a great start, but I seriously doubt they will get that done. I am just sick of being embarrassed by everything they do.
Tin foil hat much....but I am beginning to understand that the rot is at the top. There is plenty of blame to go around, but Jimmy Gator Cheek has been the fox in the chicken coop. This creep still wear Florida colors. He puts an academic Nazi on the AD search committee.
Cheek does not have UT athletics at heart. If he is not intentionally trying to harm the program, he is at best incompetent. If you think that all of the bad decisions were by Hamilton without input from Cheek, well I have a bridge to sell you. He has to be the one who hired the AD search firm that was not aware of the GT AD's situation. It is time we get someone in charge who wants to win and not just provide activities and entertainment. Cheek is not the guy. Period.
I'm not buying season tix this year for three reasons.
1. Total cost of donation, tickets, parking, etc. exceeds $2K once all is said and done. It can be expensive.
2. I'm burnt out on the entire gameday experience.
3. I'd much rather sit and watch the game with my kid at home than put up with the 95% in the stadium.
