If this doesnt get the Vols fired up then they are not human. Florida's Spikes says Vols quit last year : SEC News : GoVolsXtra.com
Former UF special teams player Derek Baldry, who served two tours of duty in the Middle East during a four-year Army stint before coming to Florida as a walk on, told a story after the game that one of the Volunteers' players told him he wasn't going to try to block an extra-point attempt late in the game.

These comments are probably why I feel so bad about this game...
Not only is UF superior to us from a talent standpoint...I honestly feel like they are head-and-shoulders above us when it comes to mental toughness...
I feel like we have shown recently that if anything goes wrong we will tuck our tail and fold like a lawn chair...
UF put a physical and mental beatdown on us last year and I have seen nothing to make me think they won't do the same this year
The quit comment didnt irritate me that much. Unfortunately It is close to the truth.
Now the comment "But I know they are not really as tough as us." That gets to me.
If the players dont get fired up over comments like that then they never will.
This is what concerns me as a Gator fan, Fulmer has got the team with the us against the world mentality, and he has always been able to win games when everybody thinks they don't have a chance. Another "job saving" performance, or has he run out of those?
I've never really understood bulletin board material or motivation from comments from an upcoming opponent at this level. I guess I could see it if there was dislike between one player and another and they started talking about each other. But most of the starters on both teams hope to play professionally and so they give their best effort all the time, or at least they should. I really think these comments are just for the fans and the media, playing the game of creating interest in the game.
If it matters, its not a lot.
