Assuming they get the expected good news early next week, I think you could see a few more commit in June. I think they will be pushing double digits heading into the second camp session in July, if they're not already there.

That's the way Dooley does it. He pushes for commitments after they see players in camp.

If that actually does happen, it will be weird seeing double digit commitments in the month of July. I know there was a huge surge last year, but I felt he took some of those commitments because fans and boosters were on him about only having one commitment.

I swear a lot of those commitments shouldn't have be allowed to happen.

This makes it sound like we may be getting a commitment from someone in Memphis or at least a TN recruit. The reason I say this is because of the talk by a lot of the TN recruits about keeping the talent in-state. One big commitment could start the domino effect, where they all start to pull the trigger. I can't wait to hear who it is, whether it's a TN recruit or Miles from TX...either way, it will be great news.

I think it will be weird to go without the annual end of summer recruiting meltdown on VN. I guess we can always Go with the ole standby meltdown of the recruits not having enough stars.

I will say this. Dooley is a master at momentum in recruiting. He'll hold two or three silents while recruiting other kids. When he gets the feeling that those kids are close to saying yes he let's the silents go public. Then he pitches the other kids on "hey we're getting some great guys to commit." And the uncommitted kids buy into the hype as well.

I know a lot of people don't like Dooley because of the W-L. But the guy was the right man for the job to fix this program. He's instilled discipline, good character, and has recruited very well.

If you look at the talent level from when he came in to now it's night and day. The year before he came in we had the Sullin brothers starting at OL at 6'1 240lb. Don't know if those boys would make it on the practice squad now days. But man they battled when they did play. I appreciate them and the rest of the walk-ons who contributed to this program's turnaround.

Your elite recruits will wait and watch. The Vols start the season off with wins especially against Florida the commits will come. Vols rack up losses to big teams recruiting becomes an issue because of the uncertainty of Dooley.

Who and why? If it henderson and redding i don't see the harm in taking a commitment from someone that has potential but you think you can eventually recruit over. He put strict requirements on them which they did not meet and he let them go. Otherwise I don't see any issue with the guys we signed

Do you really believe DD does recruiting based on pressure from fans? It is more likely that he is slowly settling into his "process" in the recruiting cycle. Last year he was playing catch up with all of the NCAA threats and other issues with the program. Probably next year he will be in a position to start developing prospect relationships 2 to 3 years out and get into his planned process.

Didnt think of it that way. Franklin is a recruiting beast whose popularity in the state only continues to rise due to clay travis constantly giving him good press on 3hl. There is no hope, all is lost. Commence meltdown in 3...2...1...

How many commits are we allowed this year? Am i wrong or didnt we have one scholly to backcount

With 13 scholarship seniors and 0 turnover, UT can sign, at minimum, 15 total players or max of 29 in 2013. Another thing to watch is that UT has about 28 scholarship juniors that could technically (yes I know this won't happen) declare to next years draft. I think this is right but it will for sure change.
