More big news soon...?

I forgot he played in '11 but that doesn't make my point invalid. Darr was terrible then and by all reports, he's terrible now.

You're the buffoon that wants to drop one of the best kickers in the country and roll with Bullock and Darr. :loco:   :lolabove:

See I can use emoticons like a child also.
Doofus...yes, it does make your argument invalid. He played in 2012 as well. Was the starter early in the season. Pretty sure Dooley was the coach during 2011-2012. If he wasn't then maybe you're on to something. But since he was, then maybe you're actually on....something.

yeah i only had 2 people on my ignore list - this just made it 3 - i mean this for me was the straw that broke the camel's back

"The point YOU keep missing is that both kickers weren't rated very high by the services. I've been following recruiting closely for over 2 decades now, so you can tell me shiite, partner."

ESPN has medley #1 and bullock #32 but both weren't rated very high - i mean wtf is wrong with your head to not get that

Rivals doesnt even rate bullock at the position - has medley #4

yet both kickers weren't rated very high - there are just some days were Volnation is too much to take and the ignore button is the only way to make it through

Something else big is about to happen.

Vols upset auburn, beat candy, and whip uk to head to a bowl game. A Juco DT commits in the next 10 days. Josh Malone finishes off the class after the UT win over uk. Vols go on to win the Gator Bowl over michigan.

TIFWIW:popcorn:
IMO, this prediction is pretty much spot on :)

I would be willing to bet that with the exception of Pearson our last 4 or 5 commits (Barnett, Hendrix, Berry Bros, etc) had been silent to Butch for several weeks or even months before they went public. He has spaced them out for games or weekends where we have looked rough on the field; i.e Oregon, Bama, Mizzou. So any other sarcastic comments chief?

Didn't everyone here the news, Slive has allowed us 45 schlorships this signing season waving all SEC and NCAA restrictions. It was 5 extra scholarship for each year Dooley was our coach. Felt that we had been penalized enough, and deserved some retribution.

Wish we could pull Darr's scholarship and bullock. Maybe just one of them. With Dallas quitting and surely a couple transfers, can't we sign more than thirty?

Don't you think the coaches are playing the kids they think are performing the best at the position day to day? Why would the coaches continue to put players on the field if there are better options standing on the sidelines? I would expect the coaches to make a change if a certain player is not our best option to win. Maybe, just maybe the other options are actually worse. JMO

Everything you said here is logical, can't disagree at all. I trust the coaches, perhaps not 100% after the last couple weeks, but damn close.

However, Smith's performance in practice is not translating to Saturdays. We can all agree there, right? I just think that surely, after fall camp and 10 weeks of the season, that surely Azzani has coached up another kid that can run a route and actually catch a perfectly thrown ball.... although I think Smith will develop into a good SEC WR over time, that for whatever reason he's not getting the job done right now and some of those drops, most notably the post route vs Mizzou, have really hurt the team. Next man up IMO.

I have yet to see a single person give a reason for taking Mosley besides "his size." Not a single mention of his footwork, how he uses his hands, his work ethic, or even his strength.

I'm still convinced if he wasn't from Tennessee no one here would give a damn about him.

Here you go (247's take on it):

That would be an acceptable ending to this season and to the long national nightmare that Tennessee fans have endured!

I sure hope you are right LebanonVol. Auburn looks like a matchup nightmare for our D. Hopefully that home field advantage will be amped up big time.

Yeah I wasn't sure how that works. Seems like Dallas quitting gives us another scholarship and spot.
How doeS that work

It gives us a spot in the max 85 but the 25 + back count numbers still apply. That's where the 30 comes from. Evidently we can sign 30. 25 is the max but we can back count 5 to the 2013 class.

Butch Jones should pull a Stewie and fly to Houston Nutt's house and punch him dead in the face and fly back.

I would love the Gator Bowl! Livin in Jax. Would be a great New Year's present. Gotta win it though! No more Fulmer Peach bowls like I drug myself to Atlanta every year for making Maryland and Clemson look like heavy weights.

In the pre-internet era of the late 1980s and early 1990s, it simply was impossible to follow recruiting with the day-to-day thoroughness of information now available to fans. Indeed, every bit of recruiting data available about your team then felt like a rare nugget of gold which had been unearthed by some obscure prospector. USA Today occasionally ran recruiting updates. You kept your ears tuned for radio broadcast interviews with the few recruiting authorities then recognized, hoping to hear more specific information about prospects interested in Tennessee or whomever you personally supported.

Prior to the Internet, "popular recruiting services used newsletters and pay telephone numbers to disseminate information” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recruiting_(college_athletics)). Some of the most respected analysts from that period included "Allen Wallace, publisher of Laguna Beach, Calif.-based SuperPrep magazine, Bobby Burton of Austin, Texas-based The National Recruiting Advisor, Tom Lemming, then ESPN.com's college football recruiting analyst and the publisher of Prep Football Report, [and] Max Emfinger of Covington, La.-based National Blue Chips” (Slightly off topic: SuperPrep recruiting mag ceases publication - Sports Update).

Yeah...I fully expect the 2* guys like Dews and E. Mosley to either get bumped or asked to greyshirt. They may look like diamonds in the rough, but both have underwhelming offer lists, so a greyshirt should not be an issue if they want to play here.

It's not a preferred walk-on offer. It's merely a few months delay in enrollment. The chances that either of them will/would contribute next fall is very remote, as it is.

I think Medley also should be a greyshirt prospect
, as well. Not a huge offer list and we probably won't need his services next fall, either.

What?....
