I was listening to Jesse Smithey today on an interview today. He was talking about the Berry twins commitment, and he said something to the effect of," Stay tuned, something else big is about to happen." Does anyone have any clue what this could be or who this could be?

When was this? I doubt Butch is gonna stack another commitment on top of the Berry's. It's their 18th birthday and they just committed to the same school that their dad and older brother played. I don't think he's gonna take the spotlight away from them on that. But I'm not an insider so the likelihood that somebody has more or better info than me is up there.

It was this morning at around 10am. He said here is a teaser and acted like whatever it was, was going to happen soon.

So how long should butch wait to convince other big names to committ bc of their birthday ?

I would be willing to bet that with the exception of Pearson our last 4 or 5 commits (Barnett, Hendrix, Berry Bros, etc) had been silent to Butch for several weeks or even months before they went public. He has spaced them out for games or weekends where we have looked rough on the field; i.e Oregon, Bama, Mizzou. So any other sarcastic comments chief?

Something else big is about to happen.

Vols upset auburn, beat candy, and whip uk to head to a bowl game. A Juco DT commits in the next 10 days. Josh Malone finishes off the class after the UT win over uk. Vols go on to win the Gator Bowl over michigan.

Butch won't announce any more commits until after the Auburn game. If we lose it helps get us thru til the next game.

I'd like to see the coaches play both backs and go with the RB having the most success.

Neal has been good this year, but Lane was head and shoulders better than Neal vs Mizzou.

If one back averages 6 ypc and another < 2 ypc then I want the coaches to play the one who is OBVIOUSLY getting it done.

I actually prefer this approach. Lessens the sting of humiliating defeat a bit by reminding us all how much better the future will be. It also dilutes some of the negativity swirling around the boards for a few hours, which is always a nice reprieve while it lasts.

My guess would be Charles Mosley since the announcement by the Berry twins was a surprise to everyone but the family. It's possible that Mosley had intended to commit today but put it off because of the other big news. The next commit could be tomorrow or Wednesday. JMO FWIW
