I wanted to post the link to a yahoo/Rivals story on Coach EO i came across a few minuntes ago.

Going Hollywood

Pretty interesting story about him heading down to Atlanta to play himself in a film about Ole Miss OL Michael Oher.

That was the first topic.

Monte said he is doing fine. Just a minor, lower back surgery. He said he loves to jog and hasn't been able to do so for about a year because of his back. He said everything went well and his back is (will be?) fine.

Thaks for both responses......:salute:

FYI to those interested, they've got the show in their archives section now:

The Edge on TonyBasilio.com

If you're only interested in Monty, his interview starts at about the 17:45 minute mark of the 5th segment, i.e., 17:45 into the '4-30-2009_Tony-Basilio_05.mp3' file, and goes 12 minutes into the 6th segment (the last file).

And I loved his reference to Pat Summit, at the end, when he was talking about the coaches (including Majors) and the coaching history at UT!

He said he told CLK something like (I'm paraphrasing here):
We haven't won a single game yet ... she's already won a THOUSAND. We've got a long way to go to catch up with her!

Monte is a great guy. I have had the pleasure of meeting him numerous times down here in Florida. He is always friendly and gracious to all who approach and he will talk football to just about anyone. During his time with the Bucs he had a weekly tv show called "Kiffin's Corner" which was always more entertaining than Grudens's show.

That was an awesome interview, thanks for sharing. Monte is a blast to listen to. You can feel the passion he has for coaching. As far at Basilio, he is horrible. This is the first time I have ever listened to him. I could not listen to this guy everyday. Not sure how he keeps his own show.

I listen to him every day. He keeps his show because the "regulars" that call in are 1000x better than any of the other shows. And he gets info that the other shows either get days later, or never get at all. To me there's no comparsion.

I have no use for Mickey and Jeff laughing at everything that comes out of each other's mouths, and Hyams is a punk.
