Hi Volnation,

Not sure if anyone here is interested, but The University of Montana is playing the University of Northern Iowa tonight at 8:00 pm EST. The game will be on ESPN.

We had such a great time playing your team this season and I thought some of you may want to see our progress.

Edit: Forgot to add that this is a quarter final game for the Division I FCS Championship.

I dunno -- I think it seems like yesterday when the Montana fans were talking smack on here.

Also, I can't easily forget the friggin monsoon my girlfriend and I experienced at Neyland that day. To make it even worse, it was her first ever trip to Knoxville. I doubt she'll be going back with me next year.

That Rain delay was miserable!!! Good luck to Montana tonight. I just have one question...What are playoffs?? Sounds like an interesting concept.

Good luck to Montana throughout there run.

They had (for the most part, like any fan base) really classy posters here on VN. I saw them play when I was at UTC and still root for them.

That was a gulley washer for sure. Me and the boss was in the north endzone upper deck...went to the top and still got soaked.

Northern Iowa actually has a pretty good football program. Basketball program too for that matter

2003: 10-3
2004: 7-4
2005: 11-4
2006: 7-4
2007: 12-1
2008: 12-3
2009: 7-4
2010: 7-5
2011: 10-2

They should have beat the Hawkeyes at Kinnick in 2009. Their game winning field goal attempt was blocked. There was a penalty so they got another kick and it was blocked again. They lost 17-16. Iowa went 11-2 that season

Their basketball team knocked Kansas out of the tournament not that long ago.
