For one thing, TX beat Vandy and Oklahoma last year. A couple of things we didn't get done.

Love going back and reading through the threads early last season that were bashing Redmond, the coaches, etc.
Dude took his lumps, learned a ton, and is going to be playing on Sundays

I thought he looked better as a true freshman than some of our guys that played multiple years ever looked at the position. I heard McCoy say at the combine that he thinks Redmond is going to be an All-American. I think that it’s kinda surprising that he is so underrated.

Preseason All American doesn't seem to be much under rated. Wasn't he second team All SEC last year and Freshman All American last year?

With everything u rolled off he should have been regarded as a top 2-3 CB in the SEC last year. Ty wasn’t initially considered a top 2 CB on his own team which is what I mean by underrated. McCoy doesn’t come back, he gets his shot and exceeds expectations. That makes him underrated to me. I don’t think anyone knew he would be this good.

Really happy to see young Redmond get some recognition. He was picked on early and often last season as a freshman. But what it did was make him experienced and a very good player by season’s end. I doubt we have him for all 4 years as he’ll likely be headed to the league before that but we should enjoy him while we have him. CB is a skill position a lot of people cannot do well.

Bold prediction: Redmond will end the season as the best cornerback prospect for the next draft (the one following his jr year)
