'24 MO WR Ryan Wingo (Texas commit)

I like the fact that we get an OV during the season if he's adamant about not announcing until this fall/winter. It's gives plenty of time for the summer visit "high" to wear off.
No way Miami stays in this once he sees them crap the bed in-season, assuming his words of caring about development over NIL are true. If it had been a summer decision it would be different. Vols will give him a great NIL valuation, then show him the success and development as the final pitch on his Fall OV.

I personally, don't see Miami as a major factor in this recruitment either way. Cristobal is good at putting the "shine" on as a recruiter, and you can definitely make UofM seem like the place to be on a visit. But, realistically bags of cash is the only thing they have to offer that's remotely a positive as a program destination long term.

Miami still hasn’t gotten a top shelf qb in ‘23 or ‘24. Most of the ‘24 qb’s are committed, so ‘25 is their best chance to grab a high school qb prospect. I guess they will be hitting the portal when van dyke leaves.

Shannon Dawson was OC at Houston.
He coached 2 star Tank Dell who was also a skinny WR, but he went 3 spots ahead of Jalin Hyatt?

Houston offense was pretty good. Usually is.

Put the air raid attack in Miami, and things could get interesting. Just the same as they have in Knoxville the past 2 years.

If Dawson can make Van Dyke good again and bring a good transfer QB before December signing day then you never know 🧘‍♂️.
Stadium is still trash, but I can see a St Louis kid wanting to go to school in Miami, and seeing enough that he can be developed.

But UGA?? Yeah, he's chasing Championships with that pick. And he'll average 400 yards receiving a year.

Aren’t most signs pointing towards this being a Tennessee-Miami battle? I know VQ said Miami is trending and UGA is fading. Tennessee just feels like a constant. If we get to July and he’s uncommitted, we’re in a great spot.

With him planning on a late commitment, I don't see Miami staying a constant. I think it's more of the fresh visit deal. I could be wrong. It definitely wouldn't be the first time, but Miami is brand new in this. These recruiting specialists often over react from what kids say fresh off a visit. We'll see I guess. If NIL isn't priority #1, then it would say a lot about the type of culture a kid wants to be apart of. UT and Miami have very contrasting team cultures.

I think the thing that may sway these receivers is the fact that Heupel only plays one set of receivers per game. You are either on the field or not.
no.
he.
doesn't.

I have broken this down multiple times. we were #5 in passing yards per game.

Washington was #1. Their Top 4 caught 60%
USC was #3. Their Top 4 caught 54%
Tennessee was #5, our Top 4 caught 61%
Arizona was #6, their top 4 caught 79%
Wake Forest #9, their top 4 caught 69%
Mississippi State (RIP Mike Leach) #10, their top 4 caught 45%.

drum roll please, that averages out to be..............................................61%.

(the unlisted ones were G5, and the LOWEST percentage was 70%)

there isn't a team out there that is actually THROWING to that much more to guys 5-10 than us. It averages out to 2 more catches PER GAME for the guys down the list. if 3 catches split between 5 guys is making a decision for people they need to look at their priorities.

IF there is something keeping WR from committing to us its that we don't throw it very much. and thats because we are SOOOOO much more effective than all those other offenses. our yards per attempt is the highest in the nation. our yards per completion was SECOND in the nation. to put it into perspective we ATTEMPTED fewer passes than Mississippi State COMPLETED.

Washington was #1. 575 attempts
USC was #3. 515 attempts
Tennessee was #5, 422 attempts
Arizona was #6, 459 attempts
Wake Forest #9, 473 attempts
Mississippi State #10, 638 attempts

averages out to 513 attempts. We threw almost 100 fewer attempts (7 per game) than the average.

other coaches may give out more WR snaps, but they aren't giving out significantly more passes than Heupel.

this is a bad narrative us UT fans should at least drop.

That stat on Miss. St. is unreal! This game is sure going to miss Mike Leach.
