Georgia has 19 Alabama and Michigan 20 a lot of times these athletic linemen get penciled in as defensive ends since that’s the most glamorous and athletic part of the defensive line. This is a good sign shows we are getting top end defensive talent.

Blind optimism. But really, AP saying Vols staff and M’Pemba are communicating a lot and M is initiating a lot of the communications and AP also saying we are in the recruitment deeper than a lot of pundits are giving UT credit for and then the general belief that Garner usually lands at least one surprise every season because he’s Garner and past is prologue.

I feel like AP has said that about alot of 5* we have lost recruiting battles for.

You take all the athletes across the front you can. The more you get pressure the less DB’s have to cover. In the sec everything is fast and on D you have to get penetration and pressure. That’s why you must win the LOS in this league to get successful. GBO!

Lots of communications indicates our level of interest not our position on his short list. Never know when a coaching change, or other issue with the other programs involved can change that position, now or down the road in the portal. Not like the threads for other talented recruits that appear here that start with the NEED or WANT posts before there is any evidence of any kind of real relationship. Out of the blue difference maker successes are probably few and far between. It is possible our trajectory could help us with late in cycle guys that open it back up this year, better on the defensive side this go around I think. On the rise with definite short path to playing time could be helpful.

Just don't know how those guys will calculate in all the throw the coaches under the bus noise. Guess it depends on who their relationship is centered around and how much they value stability, and whether they believe those throwing shade are connected or in the every fan base has them contingent. For sure would expect them to ask the HC about who would be coaching them if they came. Doubt somebody good responses without names would be a big seller. Have to wonder if our current commit list on that side of the ball is not asking the same questions as ESD approaches. Coach's answers would be great to know. Facts are good. It is one thing to lose a coach to other opportunities, yet another to put one on the street after giving assurances they will be here.

We are in the mix. It doesn't mean he will pick us because Alabama and Georgia are also in the mix as well.
