He has to express the interest first. We can't just pick up the phone and call.

I heard he was thinking about Miss. State.

Saw on tv the Seniors and Juniors can leave USC and not have to sit out a season!!!!! Freshman can leave aslo BUT USC has to give them permission..Schools can even call the Senoirs and Juniors...:good!::eek:lol:

Actually, according to what ESPN is reporting, we can just pick up the phone and call if he is a junior or senior.
"...other schools can initiate contact with juniors and seniors..."

Id say there are a lot of other jr's and sr's at usc that we could use more than mitch mustain.

UT won't be taking any USC players.

Because we're so talent rich and they wouldn't provide much depth?!? Wrong.

If anything, there won't be many defections from SC that land in Knoxville, but to say that UT's staff won't consider (take) a USC Jr or Sr is asinine.

Im not so sure that for a top caliber guy that has committed to USC, that Tennessee is the next progression as far a destinations to transfer to.

There are several other top tier programs that are way in the front of that line.

And for the record Im not referring to Mustang as a top caliber guy.

Some of those next in line programs don't have 10 spots available like we do.

Someone posted earlier today that we could and posted a link that supposedly said this. (I didn't open the link but took their word.)

Can you say O-Line? lol

I doubt we get anyone from USC, but do they have any Jr & Sr O-line that would be worth considering? I realize they will have talent, but I mean ones in which UT would have at least a 50/50 chance of landing.

If Jrs and Srs transfer from USC, one would think they would look for a place in which they had strong shot at starting. Many of the "next in line" programs will already be set with their starters, so UT may have something attractive at positions such as O-Line and QB which the "next in line" programs do not.

No USC Jr. or Sr. wants to transfer all the way across the country to come to a rebuilding program, with a brand new head coach, and learn a whole new system. Especially when (not being pesimistic, just viewing this as a sr in college) noone is predicting we even go to a bowl game.

Not saying I wouldn't love to see some come, but come on, lets be realistic here.

Never underestimate the lengths to which disgruntled youth will go. Most people would assume that there are many Jrs and Srs at USuCk that could come here and start from the first snap. I'm only talking about the ones that have been riding the pine out there.

If Dooley is as good at recruiting as he's been sold, he could possibly sell a Jr or Sr that they are the missing pieces for UT to have a great season this year and next rather than 2 years down the road.

Do we have room though? Would these count against this past signing class or next year's class? Even though we're under 85 scholorships, I'm sure the 25 per year would still play a role.
