Is that correct? I think it is.

I know Dooley can't do the kicking, but to me this wreaks of the lack of attention to detail that seems to hover around him. How can this situation not be resolved in year 3?

Well, I think no one expected Palardy to do as bad as he has. From all reports he had a GREAT summer camp. Just has not performed well in games.

All but Akron! So sad

They had to think that Palardy would at least be serviceable.

Palardy was supposed to be good. He's not.

Matt Darr was supposed to be a good punter, and even they can sometimes help kick. He's not that good either.

So it's really bad luck, honestly. And with a campus size of like 28,000 let's just roughly estimate that about 14,000 are guys. Pretty hard to find a serviceable SEC kicker with those numbers, and to be fair, Dooley has tried recruiting the position. I'm just somewhat grateful that out of those 14,000ish, we found Brodus.

Which makes you really question the evaluations being done.

Ok, fine. I'll go down the rabbit hole.

If its evaluations...what, pray tell, are Dooley's other options?

Where would you have him go at the K position?

He benched Palardy, has now benched Brodus, and Bullock is hurt.

And this is one of the reasons why I think he will fail.

He either saw a problem and could not fix it. Or he never saw the problem.

He's made the changes everybody would have wanted him to make.

ummm....to go get a kicker perhaps. I am not talking about 50 yard field goals here.

EVERY evaluation of Palardy while in high school at St. Thomas Aquinas High in Fort Lauderdale was that he was one of the top kickers, if not the best, in high school his senior season. Aquinas is also one of the best HS programs year-in and year-out. Getting Palardy was a major coup, but he hasn't panned out to say the least.

If you knew about the Palardy's recruiting, you would know that everyone missed on this evaluation.

I already knew everything you just posted and it is irrelevant.

Dooley's concern with Palardy revolves around the time both have been here. He can't do it. So find someone that could. But he didn't.

It's really weird to say the least, especially at Tennesse where solid kicking was standard years ago. Since both kickers are missing extra points regularly, it must a technic issue. Bad coaching in the kicking dept. maybe? I don't know, but it's definitley a bad problem to have when we are going to need a 40 yarder to win a game sometime soon I hope.

So. Dooley has been watching him perform since 2010.

You're acting as if Dooley is completely oblivious to this. I'm sure he's tried to fix it. The sad reality is that sometimes, people don't live up to expectations. Simple. I'm not gonna pretend to be a huge Dooley fan here, but I do have a sense of logic and reasoning. Palardy was one of the best kickers out of high school. If you knew ANYTHING about his recruitment, you'd know that there was nothing but glowing reviews for him. And I just checked: Palardy committed to Kiffin in July of 2009.

Again, know all about the recruitment.

Again, has Dooley resolved any of this?
