Miss State WR Javonta Payton transferring to the good guys

He may do great here, but 28 total catches and 1 career TD in two years at Miss St doesn’t make me believe he’ll set the world on fire.
He averaged over 10 yards per catch. Sounds like Mississippi St. didn’t utilize him much.

Glad we got him, but his stats aren't very impressive for having played in that MS State system. Hopefully Heupel can better utilize him.

Averaging 10 yards a catch isn’t saying a lot for a WR. Peyton not being utilized tells me Leach felt like he had better options at that position.
Early bird award. 😒

Well, glad to have him. But damn, keeping rosters straight year to year? Whew!

What stat does matter then? Completion percentage? Regardless it was 16.3 and 11.8. Both are better than average per nfl standards (I could not find a college list). Still he was only thrown to 9 and 19 times respectively. Looks like zero drops too.

We will see how it goes.
