what's the skinny on Miss St? i'm deployed overseas and can barely keep track of our team. i haven't seen anyone else play so can't tell if miss st is for real or not? their schedule so far doesn't look so impressive...

They're ranked in the top 25, not sure where at, they've got a good defense and a decent offense. I'm guessing the betting line will be about even, State might be a slight favorite since they're playing at home, but if the Vols play like they did today they should win it.

They'll beat us just like UGA did, by running for about 1000 yards !

They have the best secondary in the conference. They are balanced on offense and to be honest don't have a ton of playmakers. They are just solid all around with an elite secondary. Game is a toss up IMO. Would be Dooleys best win by far.

Tennessee can't beat Missouri with that defensive effort either. They will give up points to Troy, Vandy, and Kentucky with that effort, but the offense would be too much for their defenses.

Agree on the first. Anything could happen though with the other 3, but still give us the edge in those games. KY beat us last year with a WR playing QB so you just never know.

Miss St. is gonna have a lot of moving parts going in all different directions. Right now we get confused pretty easy, so its not gonna be easy. We match up better IMO with teams that are gonna just line up and try to out muscle us. When teams spread us out and make our LBs make plays in space and cover we struggle.

Their D is solid but probably a step behind UGA and UF. Its still good enough tho. We will have to maintain out balance.

fyp.

Gurley & Marshall rushed for 206 yards and 3 TDs on just 3 plays out of 34 rushing plays between the two of them. On the other 31 plays they averaged 2.77 ypc.

I think we've given up at least one of those 75 yd TD runs in 2 other games this year. I'd say we correct this and we should be in pretty good shape. CDD said we may need to make some personnel changes and before someone says the obvious, NO, he was not referring to himself.

they look like a solid 7-5 type team. TN has the talent to win by 10, but as usual it comes down to coaching

Mullen has always attacked the edges with his offense. Guess what? We have lots of trouble on the edges....In no way will this be an easy game. We've played 2 SEC games and allowed over 1,000 total yards, along with over 500 rushing yards, and have the shadiest kicking game ive ever seen. I see this being a very difficult game.

Solid post and very true.

We eliminate the big play or half of them and the meltdown and ledge jumping would be a distant memory.

Speaking of the Miss St game, has anyone ever gone before? Me and a couple pals are gonna head down, but I haven't bought tickets yet. Any suggestions on where to sit?

Tennessee SHOULD win. They need to play a lot better of D though. Early prediction. UT 34 MSU 20

Guess you missed the adjustment Coach Sal made against UGA in the 2nd half
