Mishandling of Coaches announcement

Whatever the reasons are that they haven't announced the Assistants it has hurt Tn in the long run. We have had Transfers that could have possibly been convinced to stay, recruits that could have possibly been signed. I know that the CIA top secret plan is running far.to long and just hurting TN.

I think we are having trouble getting people onboard, because as you say, otherwise it's been seriously counterproductive and I don't know why you'd do it.

They aren't going to announce any coaching hires that would have caused anyone who'd already entered the transfer portal, to pull their name.

the coaches that are on board have been recruiting both 2021, 2022 and transfer players. An official announcement from Tennessee on the coaches already here would bring no additional benefit. They are just waiting on the entire staff to be in place to make "official announcement".

Some of the new ACs are in Knoxville, and they are working already. Others are on their way. If the HC and the core of assistants who are there can’t convey a convincing message of what the future looks like, I don’t see how the last few would turn the tide.

You have no idea what’s going on and yet you think it’s being handled wrong. UT has said too much over the years and made themselves look bad. Taking a different approach wouldnt hurt.

I agree with OP. Talking to long to announce your staff creates a bad narrative. Other coaches can spin it to thier favor. CJH should have moved quickly especially if he ends up brining mostly UCF coaches (which I think is a big mistake)

It’s more blowback from Pruitt and Phil This is not on the current coach and AD. Pruitt messed us up bad! It will be a 3 year healing process.

I agree. If there is one thing that has been made pretty clear already, DW wants to control the when, where and how of the messaging.

Rushing into things has been the trademark of previous AD's and coaches. They aren't going to lose anyone over a few days that wasn't already gone. What hurt UT in the long run was the way things have been done for the last 15 years.

Monday night's announcements will be lit...and just when you thought when you'd seen it all, along comes an assistant coach 4 foot tall (Terry Bowden)...

I am not aware of any harm has been created by not announcing any of the new hires. The new coaches have been it touch with HS and transfer players and a few have been added to the team. The new coaches have already talked to some of the 2022 recruits and things seem to be going as well as could be expected at this time. I am not upset that the announcements have already been made and expect that many will be public Monday. Seems fair to me.

This is 100% accurate. The fact that it is not what a few fans want does not mean it is wrong. Some people are never satisfied unless they’re unhappy.

It's not hurting. The coaches that have been hired are recruiting the kids they want. The only thing it is doing is driving some fans crazy because they don't know who the coaches are so they can complain about them before they hit the field.

Has not hurt a single thing.

See, the recruits you're talking about, and the lads in the portal? The coaching staff are talking to them.

They're just not talking to you and me. And that bugs you.

But it's not hurting the team, at all.

I agree ...only people its hurting is the ones like this post who think they know it all or have to know it all .. im sure those working for the Vols are calling and talking to recruits, portal guys etc .. relax ..

AD Danny White was PISSED by the leak of CJH being hired. There's some "flex" going on here as he makes sure people know who is running things.

I don't think it has hurt us in the long run and his point is being made. There's a new Sheriff in town.

I'd rather have a leader who runs a tight ship than be in the leaky boat we've been in for a decade.

There are assistants that have been working since the day JH was hired. Recruits and potential transfers are hearing from them daily. I can promise you that the lack of a formal announcement has hurt exactly zero. Recruits don’t read press releases.
