If the committee--meaning Lunardi--disses UVa and UT, then you can't turn around and put Minnesota in the tournament--8-10 in the conference? No team with a losing conference record should be in the tournament, period, I don't care how good the conference is supposed to be. UVA had some bad losses but everybody does: They were 11-7 in the ACC and beat duke. Both UVA and UT were more deserving the Minny. There are a lot of subjective decisions when it comes to the picks--we all know that.

Never understood why Minnesota and St. Mary's didn't have more discussion surrounding them leading up to Sunday.

Both were thought of as locks, foregone conclusions, but I didn't think they should have been.

30's RPI, top 5 SOS, had far more bad L's but 8 wins against the top 50 and played in a way better conference. They for sure deserved to be in.

I think it's time for us to let it go.

Indeed. We had a good run to give ourselves a chance. Honestly, I think we are missing a floor leader. That should be a pg. But ours seems to be a few slices short of a loaf. We have talent, but we are not a good scoring team. If the defensive team that started the year, were combined with offense during our 8 of 10 win streak, this would all be moot. Consistancy comes with leadership.

Please..please..please.. lets learn from Fulmer. Sit back take your/our medicine, and stop thinking the grass is greener somewhere else. CCM is bringing in guys that will be the talent, floor leaders, and more of an offensive threat. Just give the man time... off my soap-box

i really think we should let this go guys - we knew we couldnt afford losing down the stretch and we lost to GA and bama

we opened SEC play 3-6 after losing 4 out of conference - when you do that it puts you in a very tough spot to make the tourney

our guys had some nice wins down the stretch and made it close but we cant really complain too much - we had our opportunities and didnt close them - simple as that

Minn L (NCAA seed)- Duke#2, Ind#1,Wisc#5 , Illinois#7 x2,Iowa, NW,Purdue, Mich#4, Nebraska, OSU#2, Mich St #3 W(against teams in the NCAA) -Ind,Mich St, Memphis, San diego ST,Wisconsin,Ill
Minn has 4 losses to teams NOT in the NCAA tourney, UT has 8.
UT has beaten 3 teams in the NCAA tourney, 2 #9 seeds and a #3 seed.
Minn has beaten a #1,#3,#5, #6,#7, and a #13.
We went 1-2 vs noncon tourney teams, Minn went 2-1. Not sure where the argument for us over them comes from

With it being a championship tournament, I'd like it if they DQed anyone who finished under .500 in their league and then also lost their first league tourney game. Illinois at least won a game, so they went a combined 9-11. Minnesota went 8-11. There is no rule like that in effect, so the Gophers deserved to get in. But, 8-11 screams failure, not tournament-worthy.

Enjoy losing to MTSU this week, Tigger High!!:)

Honestly, who likes any of your posts? Shut up and leave if don't wanna talk sensibly. All you post is dumb one-liners that annoys everyone. Thanks.

Minny should be in. Just look at the people they played and how many bad losses they have compared to UT. Not even close.

A lot better? I don't know about that. They beat some good teams, but they also lost to Northwestern, Purdue and Nebraska.

Yeah, you guys lost to Bama twice, Arkansas and Georgia twice. Pretty comparable.

Minnesota also beat Mich St, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana, as well as Memphis OOC. Way better quality wins that UTK this season.

Easy call to put Minnesota in the field. They'll probably upset UCLA first round as well.

Almost took them over FL in the second here.

Well, their losses don't quite compare to ours because we only lost to one team with a losing record- UGA. NW, Purdue, and Nebraska all had losing records.

But, I agree that our wins don't compare to theirs either. Much better wins. Minnesota is kind of like UT in Pearl's last year. Great early season and beat some great teams, struggled late, and lost a bunch of games.

Actually, I think if Memphis beats them in the OOC, that might've been enough to put them out.

Although Purdue had a losing record, they aren't a terrible team. A lot of decent teams, if playing a Big 10 schedule this year, would come out with losing records.

Minnesota is a good team, and they have the capacity to be a great team. Glad they're in the dance.

Well, I know we are quibbling over something that is minor, but Purdue also lost to Oregon State and Eastern Michigan out of conference. If not, they would have had a winning record.

Bama's RPI was 60, UGA's was 140 and Ark's was 89. Northwestern's was 168, Purdue's was 136 and Nebraska's was 104. I'd say Minnesota's bad losses were a little worse. They got the benefit of playing in a better conference where they had more opportunities for wins. UT took advantage of beating the good teams in conference like Minnesota. There just wasn't enough of them.

I don't agree that Minnesota should've been left out. I just don't think they're clear cut a lot better than UT especially by the end of the season. Losing to those type of teams shows inconsistency and that they can be beat by a lot of teams.
