Nico isn’t the starter next year. He’s the backup. Milton will have 2 years of development with Heupel and be 3rd year in the system. Nico may be starting by the end of the year but the beginning of next year belongs to Milton and is his ti lose.
Milton will be ready to have a great year in 2023.

Tennessee is in one of the best situations at QB that we've seen in years. Don't mess it up. There is nothing to be gained by creating a QB controversy. You'll just end up ruining one of them. This is Hook's team. As #2 Milton is one play away from being the starter, and he'll likely be the starter next year. I mean what more do you want? Trying to force things rarely goes well.

Tennessee hasn't had this good of a quarterback situation since 1994 in my opinion

Milton is coming in on mop up duty, only. Hooker is awesome and his stats are amazing. Not trying to start any argument or suggest there is any sort of controversy, Hooker has certainly earned it.

But...........Milton.......looks like a brand new man. His throws are crisp, on point and simply a beauty. If Milton came in for a series here and there it would certainly throw defenses for a loop. I am very impressed with his maturity. He stuck around, hell he's one play away at all times. I think they could do some of this from time to time without messing up Hooker's rythm. Hooker is too much of a seasoned vet now to not be able to handle a bit of shared time.

Milton and Hooker are very close. They are roommates and do a lot of things together outside of football. They are truly friends and push each other. A lot of QB rooms don't get along. These guys live together.

Could you imagine a back field with both of them on the field at the same time?
He will have his chance next year.

So you would hate if that happened?
You might need to retreat to your “safe space” and dwell on all this “hate” you seem to be overflowing with. Milton had his shot, at a couple of diff P5 schools, and he may even get another shot, who knows, long season, and then there’s always next year.

Who will come after Milton this off season?
If Nico has been promised the job for 23 there is no way he stays.
He has too much natural talent to ride pine.
Riding the pine is exactly what he is doing, and has done most of his career. Physical talent is not a QB’s most important attribute. He has a cannon for an arm, ……..

we will see more of Milton and soon! And If he stays next year, a freshman is not gonna beat him out!

We are finally rich at the QB position.

Glad you're not the coach...

@madbamahater you have a lot more fortitude than I to post all the replies to these folks.. I wouldn't mind seeing Milton coming in for a wrinkle play once every blue moon, myself. But I wouldn't want him playing whole series. I do believe Milton has improved a bit though. Hope we don't need him to start this season, but I still feel confident if we do.

Please read the post. No one suggested splitting (as in half) playing time.
I think that you are probably on the less popular side of this argument. If Milton comes in and plays well and Hooker has a rough game, you could create a problem that doesn't need to exist.

NO.

But I don't think it would be a terrible idea to reward him with a series or two like UGA did years ago with Greene as the starter and Shockley as the QB in waiting.

No reason to start controversy where there is none. However with us being banged up at RB I wouldn’t mind seeing them put some short yardage packages in with Milton running power this week
