I was a waitress, a carhop, and a bartender. I'm sure I've served plenty of Marines.

Why do you say that

they get the worst equipment (not counting Coasties), have the lowest morale, and lowest retention rates currently. Being a Marine is about just that, getting to call yourself a "Marine". AF has the best benefits, but even the Army is miles ahead of the Marine Corps right now

I ask because my son came to me last week and says he's interested in enlisting after he graduates trade school

does he specifically want the Marines?

There are better job opportunities in the Army and Navy for trade schools jobs. Better lifestyle in the AF. The Marines are the "cool" job, but it has more limitations. What is your son wanting to do when he enlists?

Yes he mentioned the marines. He has a buddy that just finished basic recently that he talked to. I'm not totally sure honestly and I'm not sure he does either. Obviously he can do what he wants I just want to make sure he isn't doing anything rash.
